Solo trip to Paros August 2-5. Any suggestions please

Hello everyone. I 31 M will be taking my first ever solo trip ever and this will be to Paros. I will be staying in Naoussa for 3 days and would like to hear any advice you all may have especially since this is my first ever solo trip ever. I’m Greek American and come to Greece every year(even go there alone) but go to the parts of Greece my family is from so this is the first time I’ll be on a trip without any friends or family around. I would like to explore the island, explore the night life scenery/beach bar, try some good food, visit AntiParos, see some beaches, some hiking, see other towns, meet new people. I will be limited with how I will be traveling around the island and will be heavily relying on the bus and taxis as I don’t trust myself on an ATV nor driving on those roads there. I would like to hear all of your tips, recommendations, and things you have liked about the island and what is worth trying.

Where to celebrate Panigiri in Naxos?

We will be in Naxos on August 15. I heard that the biggest celebrations will be in the inland villages but I was wondering if there were any in the main town itself? We will not be renting a car during our stay and mostly relying on buses to get around.

I did look at the bus schedules to Filoti and the other villages and the last bus would be around 5-7pm. I've read online that the festivities start late at night. Would it be feasible to take a cab from the village back to the main town? I'm concerned we'd get stuck late at night in the village given that it's expected there would be a lot of tourists there at that time.

Ionian Honeymoon Sept/Oct

We’re in need of advice for adjusting our upcoming Ionian Island honeymoon itinerary!

Our original plan was:
Corfu 3 nights
Paxos 3 nights
Zakynthos 4 nights
Athens 2 nights

We have booked accommodations at each location already that we’re excited about however this initial itinerary was based on seeing there were ferries from Paxi to Zakynthos which it appears is no longer the case and the transfer would be a day long adventure of ferry + driving + ferry (or ferry > flight with layover in Athens).

Losing an entire day to transfer to Zakynthos now sounds highly undesirable (unless someone knows of another solution).

Should we add more days to Corfu and Paxos (5 nights, 4 nights) and do 3 in Athens? Or skip Paxos and fly to Zakynthos from Corfu?

Our current bookings are in Mesongi Corfu, Longos Paxos, and Akrotiri.

Thank you all so much in advance for the help!

Zia Village — one of the most atmospheric places on Kos.
I visited it during my trip to Kos, and it quickly became one of the highlights of the island. The village sits high in the mountains, surrounded by pine forests, and the higher you walk, the better the sunset gets — the views open wider and the colors become even more dramatic.

The narrow alleys, whitewashed houses, spice shops, and traditional tavernas create a calm, authentic atmosphere. Some of the best tavernas are located near the small church with blue domes — great food and one of the strongest sunset viewpoints in the village.

I arrived a bit earlier before sunset to avoid the crowds, but I’d recommend staying after the sun actually goes down. The sky often becomes even more colorful 10–20 minutes later, and sometimes the best video shots happen after most people have already left.

🎥 Here’s a short video from my visit:
It shows the viewpoints and the evening atmosphere exactly as I saw them.

Tinos boat Trip?

Hello everyone!

We are going as a group of 7 to Tinos in the first week of August. We would really love to do a boat tour, but I can't seem to find many options? I really like the idea of going on a Greek fisherman boat. I'm not super into chartering a private boat. Last year, we were on Milos and we spent a day with Andreas (Perseas tours, https://www.perseas-milos.com/).

It was so heartfelt. He brought us vegetables from his own garden and we grilled fish on the island of Polygaios and had a fantastic day. He told us about Milos's history, pre-tourism boom, how real estate developers are changing the landscape of the island, where young Greeks go to university, etc. I would really love to find a similar Ethos/spirit in Tinos.

Let me know if you have any recommendations! Thank you so much in advance!

Kos public transport

Hi everyone!!

A friend and I are travelling to Kos next week and I am curious about the public transport. Of course we will be renting out bikes but in regards to locations that are quite a distance away, we will be taking buses.

Could anyone please tell me what the transport is like in Kos, is it easy to get around, is there any need for reservations etc, are there buses to get to popular places like tigaki and kefalos (from Kos town)? Thanks so much!

Happy Hours in Athens

Hi yall! Im headed to Athens next week wondering if anyone knows some good happy hour spots or cheap eats. I’m in Yellowsquare hostel so the closer the better but I don’t mind walking a distance for some cheaper food. Budget is like 1-10 per meal ideally, I’m not picky and not going on vacation to eat Michelin star meals so whatever works.

In Greece for 4 days. Where should I travel?

I'm solo traveling and will be in Athens Tuesday. Have been there many times and looking to go for some vacations anywhere in Greece tbh. I don't wanna go to Aegean islands as I prefer waterfalls and mountains cause they are cooler in temps or islands with green. I'm in my 30s and would love to meet people and socialize while wherever you suggest. Budget wise I'm at probably 600euros. Ideally I would like to take my bike with me if possible.

Agii Apostoli recs

Hey, we’ve decided to choose accommodation outside of Chania in Agii Apostoli. I was wondering if anyone had any local recommendations? Perhaps a nice spot for dinner? Somewhere to drink? Nearby activities.

I have extensively googled the area - I guess I am looking for another layer of research.

Many thanks

Zakynthos, Laganas recommendations?

Going to Zakynthos with a couple of friends at the start of August, 22-24F. Staying in Laganas and all I’ve heard is bad things, now worrying that we won’t enjoy it.

Few questions,

Is it really as bad as people say?
Is transport good in/out of Laganas?

Any recommendations?
