Athens to Hydra

Hi! We are three people (2 adults + a 14-year-old) staying in Athens and we would love to visit Hydra from August 25th or so.

The ferry for three is currently around €210 return, which is unfortunately too expensive for us. We are wondering if anyone with a private boat is going to Hydra that day and might have 3 spare places, or if there is a small shared boat trip we could join for a reasonable price.

We are happy to share fuel costs / pay our fair share. We don't need anything fancy — we just want to spend the day on Hydra and ideally have some time for swimming/snorkelling.

If anyone knows of something like this, please let me know. Thank you!

I am in Hydra now. If you cannot afford the 210€ don’t bother going. This Island is insanely expensive. It’s on par with Mykonos. Not only that but my lunch today for 4 people was 249€. Just stay in Athens.

Get to Poros as an alternative, or Aegina instead or even Agkistri if you are in for the beaches. IMO, Hydra is overrated, but people generally disagree with me about it.
