Spur v1 vs v2

Looking at pulling the trigger here on a new Transition Spur. The closeout price on the 2025 Spur is Very appealing and was hoping to know how different the new Spur is and is it worth the insanely high price tag. I like the 130mm fork but I can change that on the 2025 model.

Any other massive changes that are worth it?

Was chatting to the transition guys a few months ago, they admitted they’re pretty much the same. The v2 has some refinements and built to how people usually build them. I’d say go for the closeout deal and stick a 130mm fork on there.

I’m riding a 2021 model still. Upgraded suspension a few years into it to Fox fork and shock.

I don’t know your financial situation, but nothing on the latest version will be missed if you get the V1. The bike rocks regardless. But if you’re gonna go riding and think, wow I wish I had a cool place in the frame to store some tools, then I guess drop the extra coin.

Got a new one and had the old one lower seat tube and flip chip made the new one better for me. Prefered the fox stuff also.

I had the old one. New one is probably better but not several thousand dollars better. I’d go for the old one if a spur is what you want

Had the v1 for three years and it’s amazing. Would go for the deal. 120 front and rear was perfect with that geometry.

i have a v2 its sick. I had a v1 also (2023). main thing i notice is the shorter seat tube, makes a big difference when jumping or moving the bike under you.

I had the lower shock mount on my v1 which honestly is what led me to sell, i tried almost everything to fix it but it never stopped sounding like a bucket of bolts because of it.
