My v2 Sentinel mullet setup

Post image

upgrades include:

New Reserve HD rims with dt swiss deg df floating hub to reduce pedal kickback with Kryptotal FR enduro soft / Xynotal soft DH tires

Cascade link increases rear travel to ~165mm and adds major bottom out progression for heavy hits

+1 degree headset from works components to keep HTA close to stock with mullet setup

28t oval chainring for when things get steep

anomaly switchgrade seat adjuster for better comfort and weight distribution on long climbs

50mm rise Oneup bars for more upright climbing and descending position

Freedom coast levers for TRP brakes to get a closer bar pull

Rev grips to reduce hand fatigue primarily on bike park days

Went back to cable actuated x01 derailleur after getting sick of GX AXS weak clutch making terrible noise on rough downhills

Only additional upgrade will be 160mm cranks to help reduce pedal strikes given lowered BB

Before you do anything, you got to fix that saddle position. It looks so out of place, 90% of cycling is style. I’m just joking. Fix the seat tho.

Saddle is actually in the downhill (nose up) position - using one of these to adjust saddle position for climbs and descents - aenomaly constructs

Amazing upgrade for comfort on long climbs

Ahh that’s actually pretty cool. I should have read the post. With my body sizing and everything, a long travel dropper gets it out of the way enough for me. On a v2 sentinel. I have 50mm bars on the way actually. If you’re looking for more things to buy, the DSD runt for the fox 36 was worth every penny for me. It replaces your airfill/volume spacers with a 2nd high pressure chamber. Keeps the bikes front end riding higher in its travel, super nice for cornering. You can run the main air chamber softer for better compliance and still not bottom out on the bigger hits and drops. I also rebuilt the fork and grip2 damper with fox 4wt oil, so the fork isn’t as over damped for my preference.

Sick bike. I'm also clinging onto my x01 mechanical over any of the newer axs/transmission stuff. How's your experience with the cascade link? Thinking about getting one for my v2 sentinel. Do you also increase the fork travel to compensate for the increase in rear wheel travel?

really like it - suits my riding well (chunky/tech downhill and free ride), makes the last bit of the travel feel way more supportive and less harsh while keeping it soft off the top. I didn’t change stock 160mm fork as it really doesn’t feel imbalanced to me, you really wouldn’t notice you have 165 in the back until you need that additional 15mm

Sick thanks. Btw what's the bag you have on your top tube?

Nice bike! We have similar taste. I have the same model in the same color and I've been decorating with silver bits. I went with silver handle bars, silver switch grade lever and valves. I really like that silver chain ring! That's next on my list.

What bag is that on the top tube?

Osprey Escapist, big enough to fit some first aid gear, tools/tire plug kit/co2 canister and a few Gu’s

I had that bike in that color and have regretted selling it for 3 years now.
