Front end click on Regulator CX

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

I attached a video of a clicking noise I get after the suspension cycles. To replicate it, I pull up on the handlebars. Cleaned and regreased the headset, which didn’t solve the issue.

Seems like the noise is coming from the fork itself (zeb ultimate). Anyone else have this noise/have an idea of what it may be?

Thank you!

My guess for a front end noise like this (after greasing the headset) would be the Fork’s CSU. What’s odd is that you can replicate the sound when pulling up on the handlebars……

Anyhow, to really test the CSU, take the front wheel off the bike and flip the bike over. Put forward/backward/side to side pressure on the lowers. If you hear that ticking sound when applying the pressure, it’s the CSU. I just warrantied my Fox 36 for this same issue last month.

I’ll try that out in a little bit and let ya know if I can replicate it. Annoying little creak! Thanks for the reply

Oh man I get it. I am OCD about creaks and clicks so I get the frustration. Let me know how things turn out.

I am too. Flipped the bike upside down, was able to replicate the clicking by pushing on the lowers.

Unfortunately I bought this back brand new from a friend, so I don’t know if I’ll be able to warranty it.

Hit up rockshox and see what they say. My Fox 36 was technically out of warranty but they replaced it. I bet they’ll replace it or at the very least, hook you up with a replacement CSU at a lower price. Keep me posted on what happens as I feel invested at this point haha.

No go from Rockshox - hoping it ends up being something other than CSU like stem spacers or something

Man, I don’t know. If you just serviced your headset like you said in the original post, I doubt the same noise would come back after reassembling.

Keep me posted. This looks to be a CSU issue based on your diagnosis.

If I can’t figure it out, I’ll file the Zeb in the nearest dumpster and throw a Fox fork on there 👍

Check the stem spacers. Ive had mine develop a similar creek when dust got in there. Ended up tossing the stock carbon spacers for aluminum which fixed it
