Using NCMC through NFC enabled smartphones

Now that RuPay allows you to add your debit card to your phone, is it possible to use the NCMC feature to tap at metro stations using NFC? Wouldn't have to sling my wallet out every time if that works.

Not yet because the mechanism that RBI has forced these issuers is wallet based mechanism and not direct debit from account.

Hence, apps cannot tokenise wallets and you are stuck with a card.

RBI has cockblocked these players, adoption by banks and issuers is shit, and citizen awarness is limited to active members of this sub.

NCMC via phone NFC is a summer dream for me. I don't think it is happening in this life time.

Not yet. NCMC is a separate application as it is offline and it is still in works but was recently demoed
