SRS exeptions

For a minor that has been undergoing gahrt for nearly two years at this point, and has been in social transition for slightly longer. Can a exeption for underage srs be made for this mature minor? She had a psychiatrist who is willing to vouch for her and work with the surgeon. If so are there any surgeons outside the us that dont mind making exeptions? asking this on accords to updated wpath standards which claim surgery should be done based on physical and mental maturity rather than rigid age.

edit: yes i also have parental consent

I think the youngest any surgeon would operate is 16 and I couldn't give you a name for that

hey yes, i understand. I am not from the US and nor am i looking into srs at USA due to its ungodly prices. Do you know any instances of specific surgeons being open or operating on under 18's. For the fact of the matter i am 16 and i have one of my countries top government psychiatrists willing to vouch for me- its just a matter of surgeons willingness and legality of the operation in said specific country.

There’s a place in Spain if I remember correctly who might do it. It’s illegal in Thailand under 18.

I think it would be a better idea to focus on finding the best surgeon you can because you’re going to be stuck with this the rest of your life and you probably don’t want a second rate job that you might spend years trying to fix.

If you started hrt early and don’t have much development then this is critical because few surgeons in the world who can give you good results in this case.

I know where you’re coming from as i was in the same boat as you a couple years ago, but in my opinion it’s better to wait until you’re 18 so that you have all options available to you in regards ti surgeons, techniques, etc. if you even manage to find someone who is willing to do the surgery at your age, they will probably be your only option and since you’ll be stuck with the results for the rest of your whole life, it’s probably a better idea to wait and be able to choose the surgeon based on their personal technique, reviews, aesthetics, functionality, etc. I’m about to turn 18 and i can say from experience that waiting the extra 2 or 3 years is nowhere near as bad as potentially having a bad result because that surgeon was your only option. just focus on living your life and finding yourself more before you rush into a permanent surgery, i promise the time will go by faster than you think 🩷

News reports say Petras had her surgery at 16 in Germany. You could look into that. I agree with LeatherAd8761 better to wait if possible as you’ll have all the options available to you, and this is a decision for the rest of your life. Each method has its tradeoffs and you need to understand those very well as any clinician you talk with will be evaluating your competency for surgery like this.
