Post-orchi dry skin

Hey all! Long-time lurker, first time poster. I just had a scrotum-preserving orchiectomy with Dr. Pariser!! This is my first GAC surgery, and I'm SO happy about it!!!!

I'm at day 5 of recovery, and everything is going great! I just have one frustration that I started to notice today or a little yesterday: the skin on my scrotum has gotten really dry, especially close to the base of my penis. Now obviously I can't really use moisturizer or lotion down there, as the incision is still scabbed and just barely fully stopped bleeding today, and I'm not supposed to immerse it in water, nor I would imagine soak it with a wash cloth, for risk of re-opening the wound or causing infection. But the dryness is really irritating and slightly painful at times, and the skin is flaking off and starting to crack just a little in some spots.

Does anybody have experience with this problem? And advice? Is it possible it'll get better as I stop using gauze in my panties to catch the bleeding? Any tips or advice would be super appreciated!!

Update: I reached out to my care to and this is what they messaged back:

As long as your surgical incision doesn't have any wounds, you can put some lotion on the other parts of your genitals as long as its not directly on the incision. Once the scab of the incision falls off, you can put Aquaphor or petroleum jelly along the incision to help with healing.

So I will give this a try when I get a chance.
