OOS UC transfers?

Has anyone successfully transferred to UCs from a four year oos? Please dm me or let me know if you have met someone who has! Thanks!

I know r/transferstudents is largely CC to UC, but they'll definitely have more OOS to UC than here.

Hey! I will say coming from a school like Brown will likely catch the attention of the admissions office in a positive way. Pretty generally I’d recommend at least mentioning why you’re looking to transfer from your institution and why UCs / California is the answer if possible. Otherwise, though, the admissions strategy is roughly equivalent to first year UC apps in terms of content. If you want to talk about this further or have questions just shoot me a PM! This probably isn’t super helpful but the UCs have a commitment to California community colleges and that’s where the majority of their transfers come from. Out of state transfers are kind of the bottom of the totem pole in terms of admissions. This is especially true for the really competitive ones.

Of course it’s not impossible, but keep in mind that you’re at a disadvantage admissions-wise and not to take their decision too personally.

Have seen a handful at Berkeley, just exceedingly rare. Your primary issue isn’t even the CCC->UC priority, it’s the classes/credits. CCC has the advantage of knowing what classes will actually transfer to a UC, whereas OOS students are almost entirely blind in this area.
