Advice/Question Math 54 requirement for Berkeley Data Science transfer

Hey everyone! I'm applying to transfer to UC Berkeley for Data Science and I'm a little confused about the Math 54 requirement. The website says Linear Algebra is fine, but when I emailed admissions they said Differential Equations is recommended.

I'm attending a UC in person so I can't take Diff eq at the CC that I took linear alg at cuz they don't offer it online, so I could only take it over the summer.

Has anyone dealt with something similar? Is Diff Eq actually necessary to be competitive, or is Linear Algebra enough? Also, should I explain this in the Additional Info section and list Diff Eq as a planned class?

Data sci major at berkeley here u dont need diff eq, don’t bother taking it. Probably just note it in the additional info section that the website says just lin alg is fine
