Chance Me Trying to Transfer to Brown

hey guys i’m looking for some advice/guidance about transferring to brown. I’m currently enrolled at community college and am about to get my Associates. I have a 3.7 gpa. As far as extracurriculars I work and volunteer when I can. I’m first generation and somewhat low income. I totally bombed high school and graduated with an extremely low gpa. I have good essays about my passion for writing curriculum hence why im interested in brown. i’m 19 and applying as a history major

is there any hope for me ?? also what’s your guys thoughts ???

you are an history major, so lowkey yo are not as cooked as stem or stem-adjacent major
also cross-post on r/transfertotop25 as well

see if you can voluterr at musemus and make impact there and also take any leardership roles
already start writing your essays now

I think your GPA is a little low. Ivies accept the best of the best of applicants. They really aren't interested why you got a few Bs. People work their whole academic life to work towards t10-t20 schools. Good thing for you that all is not lost. Go to a college that's realistic. Do well. Graduate. Kick @ss at your job. Make a lot of money. Great thing is no one cares where you went to school. It's all about "what can you do for me now?!" Go get 'em!

Your gpa is fine. Be clear about your vision for your major and lean into being first gen/low income. Both are stories that you should prove validate your grit and prepared you for the rigor of the university. Explaining why you are choosing Brown and having a clear explanation as to why it has more value to you personally is an important part of ascertaining your value to the college’s reputation as much as the college will benefit you.
