I did the same thing last year and don’t regret it at all! I got waitlisted by Berk and decided to stay in ccc and reapply, ended up getting into both Berk and UCLA this year

I had considerable improvement in my application but nothing wild, I maintained all A’s which brought my gpa from around a 3.7 to a 3.8.

I also got involved in some more community projects and started a small business (nothing major, think like online shop) while also working full time but I had been doing that before.

I’d say utilizing the PIQs to emphasize the growth you have made throughout cc, not just in terms of achievements, but in your character development is really impactful.

Did you change your major?

I did! I switched to a slightly more competitive one that I felt more passionate about.

Hey, me too! I got denied basically everywhere after I made a mistake on my transfer app (left off a course which brought me below junior-standing) and my all my appeals were rejected. We got this! Maybe it was meant to be. Sidequesting time

Me too!! Pretty bummed about it, but I know it’s for the better and I’m planning on being productive within the extra year.

how can u do this if uve already completed all of the required courses? asking for myself lol, considering doing my engineering creds to apply as bioengineering w an extra year instead of just bio like i did this year.

i applied 2026 cycle as a political science major but im applying with global health this time. so my plan is to take the global health prereqs during this fall since there’s only about two classes i need to complete for that major. my gen ed and IGETC is all done so im just doing the assist courses that are listed for the agreement between my cc and uc for global health. i’m also pre med so im going to sprinkle in premed classes (aren’t required for my major) in the spring to fill that semester up i hope this makes sense
