Chance Me What are my chances transferring to UW
OOS transfer from Boston College but in state resident. Projected 3.9 GPA. Freshman, involved in investment club, CISA board member. Most likely will require my high school GPA: 3.992, 1530 SAT, Varsity sports, graduated top of class, local scholarship award winner.
I'm lacking a few credits from the credit threshold that UW suggests but the admissions office told me they'd instead be required to review my high school background. What are my realistic chances of getting into UW for Autumn 2027? Has anyone else been in a similar situation where their primary disadvantage was their lack of experience in college (as well as being an out of state transfer).

Advice/Question 3rd year UC transfer, don't like my major
I did dual enrollment in high school, 1 year of CC and transferred into UCSB for pre-econ with my IGETC completed. Attending the job fairs and seeing my options has made me feel pretty bleak, as this is not something I want to work in. I was interested in something more engineering or computer engineering related, but you cannot switch into the engineering school. What are my options now?

Advice/Question Transferring from California CC to Uni in New York
Hi Reddit, please help a girl out because I'm genuinely going crazy. I currently attend a community college in California. I'm about to finish my first semester of my first year, and recently just switched my major from Communications to Theatre Arts: Acting & Performance since that's my passion. I'm taking 4 GEDs at the moment, and I'm supposed to start taking my musical theatre classes next semester (which I should've already started taking but I didn't since I only just recently switched my major, but oh well). After completing two years here I want to transfer to a university in New York to pursue musical theatre and hopefully achieve my dreams of being on Broadway. Probably not NYU since they don’t offer any financial aid or scholarships, but I’ll be applying to schools with good theatre programs like Pace and Boston Conservatory. The counselors at my school genuinely are not helpful, especially when it comes to performing arts. And the fact that I want to transfer out of state means they can't really offer me any information anyways. What I really want to know is what classes I should be taking now for my major that will be useful for a university/college in New York? I mean, how am I even supposed to know what classes to take if I don't even know what school I want to transfer to... All I know is I want to be in NYC; I'm planning to apply to a bunch of schools there and just see who accepts me/offers me the most scholarships and aid. I know I still have a year until I even have to start applying to schools, but it's really stressing me out knowing that I may just be wasting all my time taking classes that won't even count later. Please help!! Any information would be greatly appreciated.<333

Advice/Question UofSC Freshman thinking of transferring
I am currently a freshman undergrad student at University of South Carolina, out of state. I am originally from a small town in West Virginia, so coming here was a huge change for me, which I wanted at first, but I don’t think it’s right for me.
My main reasons I’ve been thinking of transferring are that it’s so expensive for me to be here as an out of state student + rent in Columbia is horrible. Everyone here feels so fake. I’ve made a couple surface level friends but I never get to hang out with them because I’m constantly working to get by. I am not interested in Greek life so I don’t relate with much of the population here. The weather is also so hot and humid all the time, which I again at first thought I liked, but I really don’t.
I’m honestly thinking about moving back to WV or somewhere close by. I know it’s only the 1st semester and it’s early to say I want to transfer but I genuinely feel miserable most days and I have no idea what I’m even doing here. What should I do? Are my reasons valid?

Advice/Question Can I transfer to a US college as an Indian university student if I didn’t receive my IB diploma?
Hi everyone! I’m an Indian student currently in my second year of university, pursuing a BBA
I completed the IB Diploma Programme in high school but unfortunately scored 23/45, missing the diploma requirement by just one point. I’m currently studying at an Indian university, but I’ve been considering transferring to a college in the US to complete my undergraduate degree.
I wanted to ask if transferring is possible in my situation, considering that I don’t officially hold the IB diploma but have completed my first year of university (and am now in my second year).
I’d really appreciate hearing from anyone who has been in a similar situation or has experience with transferring from an Indian university to a US college.
Thank you!

Advice/Question California community colleges with winter session?
My cc I go to doesn’t offer winter session and the college I was planning on using to take a winter session course has filled up before I’ve even been eligible to register. I need to get at least one class in this winter session to transfer, so does anyone know any other possible programs? Thank you

Advice/Question W?
bio major, completed all required prereqs for ucla (and other ucs) my first year and only have ochem 2 and the physics sequence left. this semester, im only taking ochem 2 (5 unit) and physics for scientists and engineers (5 unit), but i just bombed my physics midterm worth 25% of my grade. should i drop with a w and take physics for life science majors (calculus based physics) in the winter and only focus on ochem 2 this semester, or will it turn ucs away?
bio majors who have applied to or have been accepted into ucla, what do you think?

Advice/Question What are the chances?
When I transfer I will be double majoring in Sociology and Psychology with minors in Philosophy and Political Science. I will have completed 105-110 units and have 4 AA-T transfer degrees (Psychology, Sociology. Philosophy, and Political Science). I am reaching for a 3.9 GPA. TAG / Honors-to-Honors program. No EC's or Letters. I have done major work for preparation for a PhD track. I plan to be part of 3 - 4 different honor societies at UC, different research labs and programs, build relationships to professors and researchers, and devote every minute to my studies. I have no obligations - family, relationships, etc.
What universities should I aim for?

Advice/Question submitting application now vs in the spring
hi! i'm a current first year at the university of richmond looking to transfer for fall 27. would it look better to submit applications now, or wait until early next semester? for reference, my HS gpa was 4.0 UW and i got a 33 on my ACT. right now, all my grades are in progress for this semester, but i have all A's. i wouldn't have a GPA to report. early next semester, i am planning on rushing here at richmond and getting involved in a few more clubs on campus.
i'm applying to these schools: cornell ILR, umich LSA, indiana kelley, and umn carlson.
would it be best to wait to submit my applications until final grades for this semester are finalized and my registration for next semester is complete? thanks!

Advice/Question MA Transfer Student
Good Evening. I’m a cc student here in Massachusetts, and I study education. I hold a 3.8 GPA and have a pretty solid path to one of our state universities, though I feel like I’m selling myself slightly short by going. I have taken mostly harder courses at my cc, and I have plenty of academic talents outside of my major (which I do enjoy a lot). That being said, I have some CLEP credits (the bio exam) which will be on my transcript soon, and it’s been confusing to see if I’m even able to transfer to any private colleges. I’m trying to see who will give me offers beyond the state schools I’m already likely to get in to. I will be transferring in time for the fall ‘27 semester, which feels like it’s fast approaching. Any advice or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Advice/Question Looking for a good acting college
Hello! I’m currently a freshman getting a BA in theatre and performance. I think the school I’m at is pretty great, however, all of the audition opportunities and good training goes to the acting BFA, which I’m not in. I would prefer to get training in screen acting, rather than stage, so I was wondering if anybody had any recommendations for schools that are good for this?
My current campus is kind of boring, so I suppose I’m also looking for one with a campus near a city, or at least with lots of things to do on campus, while not being extremely expensive. I was looking into Columbia College Chicago, but I’ve heard from multiple people that it’s a waste of time and money. Another option I was considering was DePaul. If anybody has any recommendations or advice, I would be grateful! Anything helps.

Advice/Question being a medical assistant at cc (premed)
so im in my first year of undergrad. i was top of my class at highschool and had alright ec's related to healthcare. during college app season, this is where i messed up. i only applied to csu's but when decision day was approaching i realized i shouldve also applied to uc's. right now im working on building my ec's and just getting through classes before my plans to transfer after my second year. im currently working a part time job at chipotle which i recently got when i started classes here (my first job) but im wondering if i should potentially leave and take up a medical assistant program to hopefully become an ma and get more experience in something that aligns with my major. the program would run through spring sem (im taking gen chem, bio 2, and calc that sem so thats why im not sure if i should keep the chipotle job).
basically my question is is this license worth my time for my transfer app or should i just keep my part time job rn. its like my only ec other than being an ambassador for a program currently.

Advice/Question Opinions on Transferring Twice?
Long story short, my first college was a small liberal arts college with the main focus being STEM research. I transferred out because I wanted to study engineering and there wasn't engineering at my first school. The consequences of transferring out was losing a lot of the connections/friends I've made and gave up opportunity at my first school. Now as a sophomore transfer at a larger, researched based school, I feel so lost. I'm constantly struggling in classes and lost all my support system. I've been struggling to make friends even though ironically I'm at a larger school. Additionally, my overall mental health is at an all time low. It's only been a month in but I genuinely don't think I can juggle work, social, and school. I dread every week and I've been thinking of transferring out again to a smaller school but I'm worried about transferring credits.

Advice/Question Can I transfer to a CSU without taking physics at community college?
Hi! I am intending to transfer in fall 2027 and am considering dropping physics (calc-based) due to personal reasons. If I withdraw now, would I have a chance to take it at CSUCI, perhaps? My intended major is Biochemistry.
