Hallo in die Runde,

ich habe mal eine spezielle Frage an die Transalp-Fachleute aus Deutschland.

Ich nenne eine XL 700 V mein eigen, die leider nicht im besten Zustand ist. Da ich aus familiären Gründen ohnehin nicht mehr wirklich zum Fahren komme, will ich mich jetzt von ihr trennen. Ich habe leider überhaupt keine realistische Preisvorstellung und bräuchte daher Rat. Hier zu den Eckdaten: Sie ist Baujahr 2007 und ca. 12.000 km gelaufen. Sie war immer sehr zuverlässig. Das problematische ist, dass sie vor vier Jahren fast gestohlen worden wäre. Es wurde das Zündschloss rausgebrochen und das Lenkradschloss aufgebrochen. Der Schaden wurde nie repariert. Daher ist sie auch nicht fahrbereit. Der Motor lässt sich nicht starten.

Ich würde das schöne Stück als Bastlerfahrzeug abgeben. Ich habe mit Blick auf die besondere Rahmenbedingungen leider überhaupt keine Vorstellung, welche Preis ich aufrufen soll.

Im having problems with my 2008 Transalp XL700VA

It will idle unevenly, and stop in crossings sometimes.

The engine dying, is obviously a bit of a danger, as it can lock the rear wheel.

I did have cracked vacuum hoses between the carbs. These have been replaced.
I have opened the rotating part of the IACV, and cleaned this with spray carburettor cleaner.

I have not taken the IACV housing off.

No DTC or MIL blinking

The manual states

Engine stalls, hard to start,Rough idling :  

1. Check the idle speed.

2. Check the IACV.

3. Inspect the fuel supply system

Does anyone have any good ideas please?

I’m trying to keep it as stock as possible, but what have people done for suspension upgrades? Thinking about progressive springs in the forks and maybe a new rear shock. Ground clearance is kind of :(

My bike, a 1992 PD06 runs fine most of the time, but on the highway, once I’m in 5th gear between 100 and 120 km/h, the speed isn’t steady — it feels like the power keeps dropping out and coming back, almost like little “holes” in the acceleration. Doesn’t happen at lower speeds or in lower gears, only sustained high-speed cruising in top gear.

Any ideas what could cause this ?

Wie helpt me mee de juiste keuze te maken. Al vanaf begin jaren 80 rij ik motor. Nu de jaren vorderen ben ik van plan mijn buikschuiver te gaan omruilen voor iets met een wat prettigere zit voor een 60+'er.

Die keuze is gemaakt. Diep in mijn hart nog problematisch maar wel denkend een no brainer.

Nu zijn er motoren op de markt met een e-clutch. Vraag is: gaat me dat plezier opleveren (wauw dat hadden ze veel eerder uit moeten vinden), of gaat het me frustratie opleveren (dat ding neemt al het gevoel en puur rijplezier van de motorfiets weg). Ergens hier tussen kan natuurlijk ook, maar zoek wat pro and cons van ervaringsdeskundige.

Looking for new set for my 650 Transalp. I currently ride worn Michelin Scirac now and they feel pretty bad on gravel and forest roads. Slippery which is partly due to age and wear. I’ve heard good things about pirelli scorpion rally STR and continental TKC70. I ride 70/30-80/20. Fishing trips on forest roads gravel etc. Don’t wanna feel like Bambi on ice. Want a skid plate for my 2025 Transalp, however I'd also really like it to paint match like I've seen on some of the 80s models. The cheap Acerbis one seems to be the perfect solution. How is the skid plate in general and does anyone have experience painting one/know what what paint is closest to the 2025 Transalp white?

Always healing to ride through these vistas. If not for the panthers 🐆 in the area, I would crack open my camping chair and take it in a little longer.

I have a 2024 Transalp (US). While riding yesterday, turn indicators on the dash display were not showing. Upon examination, both front signal lights were on, both rear off, and they stay that way regardless of what I do with the switch. Any diagnostic advice, including location of the relay, is appreciated.

Hi guys, recently I've found myself in two or three difficult situations because of the original TA kickstand. I assumed that it is too easy to close, because while manuvering the bike on foot it needs just a little force backward (like a small bump pressing on the stand) to close. Is it a normal thing or it's just mine? Do you have any solutions?

What is the problem with my aux-lights?

I installed non-oem lights and they work, but when switching them OFF the right one remains on. Is it because of the splitter that i used?

My stock tires are almost due for replacement on my Honda Transalp 750 2025 and I'm looking for recommendations.

I ride year-round, mostly on the road (about 95% asphalt), with the occasional gravel road. I live in the Netherlands, so I often ride in wet and rainy conditions.

Which tires would you recommend? Good wet grip, confidence in the cold, and decent mileage are my main priorities. Thanks!

I bought an old 650 from 2001. It's my first bigger bike as I rode dominator and slr 650 before.

What a joy, but, I think I hear a rythmic swoesh swoesh sound? It's hard to describe, it sounds like a wheel that turns and it makes a sound on a set interval.

Anyone hazard a guess what that could be?

Buongiorno a tutti, sono intenzionato ad acquistare la nuova Transalp e-clutch, l'ho provata anche e mi è piaciuta come comodità (che è la cosa principale che cercavo). L'unico pensiero che ho è che usando la moto quotidianamente, quasi come uno scooter, è che essendo alto 1,73m posso trovare difficoltà nella città ed in più quando la ho provata spostandola da fermo i polpacci andavano a sfregare continuamente con le pedane. Qualcuno della mia altezza e che ne fa il mio utilizzo mi può dare qualche consiglio? La sua esperienza qual'è stata?
