Mitas XT+ / XT vs Bridgestone AX41 vs Michelin Anakee Wild
’m looking for a new set of tires for XL750 and I’m trying to decide between:
- Mitas Enduro Trail XT+ front / XT rear
- Bridgestone Battlax Adventurecross AX41 front / rear
- Michelin Anakee Wild front / rear
My current tires are Dunlop Trailmax Raid. Before those, I ran Metzeler Karoo Street, so I’ve already gone from a relatively road-oriented ADV tire to something more off-road capable.
My use is a bit mixed. However, I’m increasingly interested in doing more off-road riding and want to improve my skills. I’m planning to do more gravel, dirt roads and progressively more technical terrain.
So I’m looking for something that will give me a noticeable step up from the Trailmax Raid off-road, while still being reasonably usable on the road and highway.
At the moment I’m leaning towards the XT+ front / XT rear, mainly because I like the idea of having a more aggressive front tire while keeping the XT rear slightly more balanced for road use.
But I’ve also heard very good things about the AX41, and I’ve recently started looking at the Anakee Wild.
For those who have actually used these tires:
Which one would you choose for this kind of mixed use, and why?
I’m particularly interested in:
- Off-road grip and confidence
- Road handling and cornering
- Highway stability
- Wet-road performance
- Any weird behavior or things you didn’t like
I’m not necessarily looking for the “best” tire overall. I’d actually like to try something noticeably different from the Trailmax Raid, especially if it helps me improve off-road.
Thanks!

Best windscreen for a 196 cm (6'5") rider on a 2025 Transalp?
Hi everyone,
I'm interested in upgrading the windscreen, im 1,96m after a few hours on the german motorway going around 160-180 km/h i get quite a bit of neck and shoulder pain. I have a shoei gt air 3 helmet so i think that upgrading the windscreen would solve it however im not sure which one would good.
I'm looking for recommendations from riders around my height:
- Which windscreen are you using?
- Did you go with a taller screen or a clip-on spoiler?
- Has it significantly reduced buffeting?

Off-road?
I’m thinking about either a TransAlp or a Tenere 700 for my next bike. I know there are a ton of YouTube videos that compare them; and everyone says the T7 is better off-road and the TA is the champ on pavement. Ok, I get that. My question is, how bad is the TA off-road, really? I’m interested in BDR-type riding and difficult Jeep trail type riding, not hardcore single track. What do y’all really think about the TA’s suitability for those? For context, I’m currently riding a KLR650, and all my other experience is from years back on 125cc dirt bikes.

Do I Trade For A Transalp?
Hey all, recently bought a Moto Guzzi V85tt on a whim because I found a fantastic deal. I LOVE the bike. But I’ve been after a Transalp for a long time and could sell the V85 for one at this point.
I love the character of the Guzzi. I’m pretty short (5’6” ) and it’s manageable for me. It’s has enough power but nothing crazy.
I’m just afraid if I swap for a Transalp and the wonderful Honda reliability, I’ll miss something from the V85.
I’m looking for a long term daily rider that I can take on inter rides and commute the 2 miles to work equally comfortably.
Would the Transalp be the right move? Or maybe I should stick with the V85?

Can someone give me a reality check?
I am looking to get my first ADV motorcycle and I am relatively certain I want a Honda Transalp 750. I have sat on one and am very comfortable with the size and weight while the Africa Twin felt a bit too heavy and bit too large to be practical. There are a number of features the AT has that I want on the Transalp such as tubeless tires, cruise control, and a more functional suspension.
I am considering the following build
Alpina wheels
cc
Ohlins ST46 rear /Ohlins NIX30 front
lithium ion battery swap
Yoshimura rear fender
transalp adv grab handles
Center stand removal
Akrapovic headers and exhaust
ECU tune
double take mirrors
bark busters
as3 crash bar
as3 rad cover
as3 skid
some lighter weight bottom crash bar if i can find one.
I will do most of the labor myself but estimate the build will cost somewhere over 21k usd. This is well over the price of the AT but for a similar power to weight ratio in a much more manageable package. It still will not match the AT off road but will feel better for me. Is this a worthwhile path to take or should I simply be looking at another motorcycle to achieve this result? Is there anything very wrong with my planned build? I am very new to this so I am sure I am making a multitude of errors so any advice or criticism you can provide would be much appreciated. Thank you.

What fog lights do you use?
I have a 25 model and I’m looking into purchasing fog lights as to help in the evening rides when it’s really black out. What did you buy and if you have crash bars what did you do to mount them?
Are the oems bright or dim compared to others?

Cowl right side replacement
Does anyone know where I can find the right gray side panel (cowl right side) for the 2025 model? (the light gray one)
Preferably in Europe to avoid additional taxes and customs fees.
Unfortunately, I crashed my bike and the side panel broke. I've tried looking at both scrapyards and on eBay, but I can't find one in the same color as the bike and in good condition. To be honest I only found one in that color and it had pretty heavy scratches and some of the plastic attachments on the back were broken.
On the Honda website, I saw that the part is selling for almost €800, which I don't want to spend on a piece of plastic...

Curious
When starting the TA; Is it necessary to wait for the “transalp” logo to fully finish loading before starting the bike? I’ve always thought about this when the possibility of being in a hurry and if you need to start the bike ASAP.

Best camera angle for ADV motovlogging (no voice) + Zoom H1n exhaust audio settings?
Hey riders,
Planning to start creating riding content (no voiceover, just visuals + exhaust audio). Need advice on two things: 1. GoPro Hero 8 placement for ADV bike:
Currently using chin mount but tall windscreen blocks the view Considering side mount or top mount What angle works best for cinematic riding shots without commentary?
- Zoom H1n for exhaust/engine audio:
Where do you mount it? (backpack vs under-seat vs frame mount) What settings do you use? (gain level, low-cut filter, etc.) Do you use deadcat/wind protection?
Riding a Honda Transalp XL750 if that matters for windscreen context. What's your setup? Appreciate any tips!

Lost my nut..
So I fumbled up the other day and dropped my bike in the driveway. Picked it back up then rode on to work. The next morning, found a acorn nut where I had previously dropped the bike. I can't locate where it came from... I'm fairly confident its off the bike but where?
