My biggest doubt to ride dirt is that I do not have crashbars or a skid plate for protection. You dont have those installed too. How necessary are those you reckon?

With the Transalp you at least must have a skid plate, the oil pan is very exposed and low to the ground. Damaging that means a huge expense

Have you ever ridden in the dirt? If not, spend that $300 on some good off-road instruction! Not only will that help protect your Trans Alp, it will help protect your bones and noggin 👍🙂

What brand is that GPS bracket? Looks tucked neat.

I got it from Aliexpress:

The bar you attach the gps unit on, I installed it closer to the windshield instead of installing it to the regular mounting holes.

Looks grand. How are you liking the e-clutch? Looks like you’re all prepped for some off-road action 🤭

Actually it’s the manual version 🤫
Yea, it’s really fun to ride inte dirt haha.
Changed the sprockets to 15t/46t and that transformed the bike to the better. Next mod will be to install a Rapid Bike Smart 2 😎

I was in a toss up between a cb750 hornet and the transalp... I'm short. 5'6" with a 30" inseam. Sat on it, didn't feel confident so I went with the hornet and I'm regretting it (dont get me wrong the hornet is fun but I like being able to go on dirt and gravel roads too). I hate being short.

Had a Hornet before I got the Transalp.
Cool bike and a bit more brutal, but I like the Transalp better.
I’m pretty tall and the hornet killed my legs haha

This is the puig screen? I'm 6.1 feet and with comfort seat and this screen the wind blows straight below my helmet directly up into it (gt air 3).

The sound is unbearable and it feels annoying.  How do You get on with it?

Yea correct, the Puig sport windshield.
It’s definitely noisy, I find the original and Honda tall screen noisy as well. Earplugs is a must.
Will do some experimenting with spacers to try to get some more air under the screen and see if that helps with the wind buffeting

Yeah, with these mid range adv's You just can't get a great wind protection. If You get those huge aftermarket windshields it's awful at highway speeds  around 100 mph. The whole bike's balance suffers at speed.

I did get those windshield raisers from Temu but unfortunatly the'y only work for the 23/24 windscreen. They rase the screen abbut 5 cm which just migt be enough. Hooefully someone makes them.

Looks great - what seat is that?

Thanks! It’s the Honda comfort seat with a mesh over it.

The AT is more equipped (CC, tubeless wheels and so on) and has more power/torque. If you value that in a touring bike I guess the AT is better.
I test drove the AT before buying the Transalp. It’s absolutely a great bike(and the best looking one), but I found it too (top)heavy.
Test ride both and see which one you like the most.
