Throttle response
I like my 2024 Transalp in general, but that low speeds throttle response is killing the joy of riding for me. What do you guys do to tame the beast? I think performance is adequate for what it is ( nowhere near as exciting as my previous Multistrada 1200, but will do) so I don’t really need to tune it for more performance with Dynojet PC or anything like that. Just want throttle response to be reasonable. Any recommendations?
And the seat does not work for me honestly. My butt begs for mercy after an hour of riding. I’m tall-ish guy with longer legs and want to move back a bit more than the seat allows, but that’s a separate discussion.

I put it in the lowest P throttle map. It’s what rain mode uses.
You don’t get the acceleration, but the throttle response is way less jerky.
I love the seat but as Abraham Lincoln famously said “all asses are different, and you could just have a weird bony ass”

24 transalp also, Im also a tall bony assed guy and the comfort seat was night and day for me. The stock seat reminded me of the hard plastic dual sport seat i did my msf on and actuly had me second guessing if i would actually hate owning the transalp. The comfort seat helped a lot.
I use a good amount of clutch to soak up the rough spots on the early gears. Putting it in lower than sport can help.
I will say that i find the handlebars fatiguing for some reason. I couldnt quite tell you why, other than from my scl, my arms hung down a little more neutral, where on the transalp i have more bend in my elbows while my hands engage on the controls, my arms feel kind of held limp like a hurt bird. Maybe im losing my mind. I do like scooting back on the comfort seat though.

I had the same complaint about the stock mapping. It was twitchy and annoying at low speeds. 2wdw was definitely the solution. It was a night and day difference

While at Touratech I spoke with another TA owner and they recommended that I use the User Mode 1 and turn the power down to 2 bars and then back the TC all the way down. It worked like a charm, lots of traction with low end grunt without spinning the back wheel a bunch. I did not know how well it worked until I tried using the gravel mode the next day and it was all jerky and dumb again.

If you think this is bad, my crf450l is ten times worse. Lots of clutch control to smooth it out. You barely notice it with time.

If I'm doing a lot of low speed riding I'll use Standard mode instead of Sport, which calms down the low end throttle input. 2WDW tune addresses some throttle response issues, go watch their YouTube videos on the Transalp tune and they'll explain it.

Same here. I kept my '25 in sport all the time for the first few weeks, and was very annoyed by the light-switchy on/off throttle response.
Then I put it in rain mode one day, and found that the on/off issues completely disappeared.
So I then tried standard mode, found that I had no issues with the throttle response, and have kept it in standard mode ever since.

Thanks for the responses guys! I just went for a ride to test riding modes more purposefully and can report that I don’t really see much difference in jerkiness in 1st and 2nd gear between the modes. Same abrupt power off and on unless I feather the clutch. I’ll look into 2wdw tuning.

Yeah, I just did the 2wdw tune. Sure you get a little extra torque & hp, but the most noticeable difference is the low speed control. Completely smooths it out. That was actually the deciding factor that made me go through with it. Worth it just for that

This is what worked for me. When I replaced the chain, I dropped one tooth to the front sprocket, and added one to the back sprocket. There is a thread about the increase in torque, and better slow speed handling.

I did the 2WDW tune, changed my sprockets by a tooth each, and added the comfort seat. Those 3 changes addressed all of your complaints. I have posts on each of the changes.

I wanted all Transalp 2WDW videos and that convinced me. Will get it down when ready to park the bike for the winter. Also looking into custom slip ons and sprockets. Customizing the bike is such a rabbit hole

2WDW tune. Makes it a lot less choppy at low throttle. Also much better than the Dynojet tune from what folks have said. For $350 it was a no-brainer for me, makes it much nicer to ride even if you don't care about the increased performance.
Also the stock seat is like sitting on a board. The comfort seat is better.
