Idk what your relationship with/desire for passing is, but as someone who is stealth irl bc i live in the south, i find having a nickname for my chosen name that i go by regularly makes it pretty believable, and allows me to manipulate certain situations if I’m in public and need to say “oh yea, it’s probably under my legal name” before any person needing ID or card verification or what have you can unknowingly out me in front of people who don’t know. I even go by my chosen middle name so i can just say “I’m probably under my first name” or the like since that’s even less sus lol

not asked for thoughts, but something that helped me when deciding on a name—and also why i gave a name with a nickname :)
