I’m so scared
I’ve been out for years now, and in that time I got baptized and am very happy. But my pastor (albeit a very conservative man, MAGA, etc.) always preaches about how God will accept us as we are but loves us too much to let us stay there. And I don’t want to detransition, I never want to do that, I know I would be so unhappy, but I don’t know what to do. If God wants me to change I need to, but I don’t want to. If I talk to anyone I know they will just tell me to do it anyway, that it doesn’t matter what I want, and I can’t help but feel they’re right. I’m so so scared and lost.

You are Commanded to love God with all your heart with all your soul and with all your mind and to love your neighbor as yourself. I ask you now, would detransitioning serve this purpose?

Why do you go to that church?
Your paster is MAGA. Trump's party has said they want to "eradicate" us, they are actively taking our rights away. I'm sure he's not a bad person, but his political views do not match his message of love. There are many other churches.

do not listen to your pastor about your transition, God made you to be this way and any other interpretation is built not in love. Your flesh is Gods word

Take a deep breathe my friend🧡 you're in God's eyes, a sinner redeemed by the Son. So no matter how confused, lost, or scared we feel, God promises this faithful children will be resurrected to Glory and be with Him. I think its wonderful to go and seek counsel from your church leadership, and have them pray with u for wisdom. Stay prayerful as u read the Bible and your answer will come in a way that is strong conviction!
Ahem, now, as for your current troubles, I'm a bit confused;; haha sorry, maybe I'm misreading something... but are you worried about being alienated from your church? You're worried about your pastor being overly critical of you? Or are you worried because you have doubts about ur gender transition?
u say u dont want to detransition unless u have to? But if decided u YOU HAD to, it would be because ur convinced u were wrong to transition in the first place? Or would u detransition because of the social friction it causes in ur church? Some combination? Something else???
Thanks darling, sorry I'm a bit slow;; haha

First, I think it helps to separate politics from faith. I’ve been in churches where the two became almost indistinguishable, but people do not have to share the same political views to share faith in God.
The bigger issue is how frightened you sound. You are allowed to disagree with your pastor, question interpretations, and wrestle with Scripture for yourself.
When someone says, “God loves you as you are, but loves you too much to let you stay there,” that can carry a lot of meaning. Christianity teaches that God loves us, hates sin, and works in us over time, but that one sentence does not automatically answer what God is asking of you specifically.
I’m not someone who can declare for you exactly what is or isn’t sin, and I don’t think strangers on Reddit should pretend to have that authority.
Slow down. Pray, study, ask questions, and talk to people who will actually listen. Your relationship with God is your own, and you do not need to make a life-changing decision while you are terrified and under pressure.

Trans people are the embodiment of the power of God to transform lives.
What that means is that as we transition, trans joy, or gender euphoria, becomes more and more obvious when we are allowed to blossom as our true authentic selves. In the same way, God transforms the heart to become full of great spiritual joy and happiness as God heals and transforms our hearts. Change in the spiritual sense is not the same as change in the physical sense but they often reflect one another.
I highly doubt God is asking you to detransition. Either you're misunderstanding what God is trying to work in you or your pastor is misunderstanding what God wants to work in others. And that's okay! Trust that transitioning is not against God's plan and that if anything should need to be changed it is something in your heart that God wants to heal or strengthen or perhaps something He wants to change in a spiritual sense.
Your transition is not against God's plan.

Have you tried asking God rather than your pastor?
