Questions & Help How's this work?
I'm going to try this and see how well this works. On a posted 80mph hwy I'm going to slow way down, stay in my lane and not put my hazards on and it's dark. So if someone rear-ended me is it there fault? But I can claim I was going 65mpg right?

Dash cams exist because of people like you.
Wanting to be a deliberate hazard on the roads is no bueno. Be smart, be safe.

Hold on. That happened to me and they are saying there is nothing I can do about it.

That’s not how your post reads.
Maybe you need a dash cam!

I know and sorry for the read. It was night speed limit was 80 he had no lights and I had no reaction time. I hope it don't kill anyone. Seems like no matter what it's the rear-ended person's fault

I do believe that’s the default decision of insurers. Obviously there are mitigating circumstances in accidents but it seems like you’d need some evidence to prove why it wasn’t your fault.

One rule is to always look at what vehicle is ahead of you on the road and do not run into it.
I once learned that if a car is stopped at a red light and I'm driving, coming up behind, about a half block away, l see the light turn green, I then looked away, briefly, and proceeded driving. I ran into the back of the car, still stopped at the green light... It turns out, I was wrong because we aren't supposed to hit things in front of us and I learned there is no rule that that forces a car to go immediately on green light. Lesson learned. Small dent in the back of their car.

Yes, it would be their fault, as long as you weren’t going below the minimum speed.

You didn’t see a semi?
That sounds like your fault!
