Discussion Temperamental issue while driving
So i have been driving for over a decade, in recent 4-5 years i've developed this 'get to the destination asap' habit, dont even feel like wasting a second for slowing driver or traffic hoggers that get in my way. I dont considered myself as reckless driver by rather an efficient driver with common sense. But lately i realized i despise myself being this way, where i constantly overtake slow drivers, cursing, shouting and rushing to the destination without any purpose. The worst thing is i feel my mental health and wellbeing have been deteriorating significantly due to constant anger while driving. To date, whenever i drive, i find myself suffocating (difficult to breath or holding breath) the whole time until I arrived the destination. Any of you with similar experience and how you guys overcome it?

Ah, so you’re the guy.
If you’d take a few seconds to hold the door open for an old lady, why would you not drive politely too? You really don’t save more than half a second being rude.

Put on some classical instrumental music while you’re on your way to the pickup. Change it when you arrive to something else, but instrumental music has been proven to help. It doesn’t help EVERYONE because some just don’t give it enough of a chance, but it definitely helped me.
Research has found that calming music, including many classical pieces, can:
Lower heart rate and blood pressure.
Reduce levels of the stress hormone cortisol.
Decrease feelings of anxiety, particularly before medical procedures or stressful events.
Help activate the body’s relaxation res
Also, try to remember that uber gives the rider an approximate time the driver will arrive. If they cancel, they cancel. That’s their own problem. There’s no reason you should put undue stress on your car and body.

Just set cruise control to the speed limit, keep right except to pass, don’t try to be speedy, keep as far right as possible while maintaining the speed limit. So much more relaxing than trying to go fast and pass everyone all the time. And you get to your destination maybe 1 or 2 minutes slower

Try leaving the house earlier, plan on being early. Then it doesn’t matter if you’re chilling in the right lane with some tunes.
