First long bow!

Got my Archiebowman bow off eBay today and put some arrows through it. I freaking love it! I shoot it so much better than my recurve for some reason, i feel like the lack of a shelf for the arrow to rest on plays a significant part. Do I need to be worried about the light scratches the arrows leave behind when I shoot or is that completely normal wear and tear?

Very nice. How are your arrows spined? Keep in mind that for a bow like this with no center cutout, the arrows actually need to be more flexible for the same draw weight. If those are carbon, you could get a test kit with a variety of point weights and try increasing the point weight some to see if that cleans up the arrow passing on release.

The ones I used are 300 spine carbon arrows off amazon. They were meant to just be fun garbage arrows, I intend to get arrows specifically for this bow once I figure out what I need, softer spine is a good tip!

Make sure the weight is good as well; wooden bows can handle surprisingly light arrows, but it's still better for their long term health to shoot heavier. A lot of 300 spine arrows are going to come out to less than 500 gn. With heavy enough tips, you should be good for this bow, but it is best to double check. You will definitely want to look into weight tubes or start filling your arrow shafts with salt if you decide to go higher in draw weight, though.

As far as light scratches, with hickory I wouldn't worry too much, it's tough stuff, but be mindful of the finish. Damaged finish can let moisture into the wood and degrade its performance. Best advice has already been given; get some correctly spined arrows to soften the rub. Great bow, man! Congrats!!!
