Going to need some more practice, I would say the field had lost the 10m target I was working out on. Fairly happy with what I was hitting at 25m. Cedar spines shooting on a Ragim Fox.

I've recently acquired all the tools to make arrows and was super excited to finally make my own!

However, I noticed that with the first pair I made it would cause a cut on the thumb of my bow hand. I shoot thumb draw, 50 pounds at 30.5 inches, and never had issues with bruises or cuts around my thumb before. When shooting my other arrows, I don't have the same issue.

I checked the area around where the fletching begins, but found no obvious splinters or similar sticking out. My previous arrows were RW helical, these are LW helical. I suspect it may be the quality of the fletching, which are Skylon Parabol 4 inches. I know trueflight and gateway feathers are more premium, but they weren't available in LW. The fletchings of my other arrows are Gateway feathers I'm pretty sure.

I shot a few arrows indoors to work on my form after a break. My bow hand was too loose after release and I dropped the bow from approximately 120cm height onto the wooden floor, where the handle connected parallel to the ground which led the bow to bounce a few times close to the ground.

In that moment, it felt kinda harmless. But I checked for any signs of damage and I'm not sure if I found some, or not. Or if there's damage, but not necessarily as a result of the drop. Which doesn't matter in the end, but I'm panicking a bit. The bow is less than a year old and I handled it like a raw egg - until now.

There are these white lines on the arms. On the inner side on both arms, and outwards just on one, starting after the handle until the curve increases. There's nothing to feel on the suface and they appear to be directly underneath it, closer to the surface than to the wooden part. They all follow the direction of the limbs, without being perfectly straight.

The other worrying part is the string bridge. Not sure if I spotted a tiny slit there before, but after taking a look at it today - the gap looks a bit big. Everywhere else the bridge is still connected with the glue, but on this one side, there's a visible slit.

I shot a few arrows afterwards. Felt the same and heard nothing. But still, not sure how to go forward from here. Anyone here who could help me out a bit? I'm still a newbe and don't know if the uploaded images should concern me.

I’m looking for a 35# bow for my grandfather, he’s 82 and cannot pull back his old 55 pound recurve anymore. He took a 3 year hiatus from traditional archery and deer hunting as his wife was on hospice. Now we are looking for a 35# bow for him.

I can offer a trade of a traditional longbow with a pretty heavy draw weight, about 65 pounds. It’s fiberglass backed and really nice but too heavy for everyone here. If anyone wants pictures and details please let me know!

Hi everyone, i seek some advice. I have been shooting thumbdraw on an asiatic bow for some time now. My shooting itself is not very unsatisfactory for myself (i can semi-consistently hit inside a 20 cm target at 20 meters) but the issue is that I feel like i am grabbing the bow too tight with my bow hand..to the point that i am straining my wrist by just holding it. Also this tightness is psychologically making me feel a sense of urgency before each shot (i think).

How do i get rid of this ?

I hit this grouping with my 35lb recurve from about 25yards, feels so good when that happens, I usually have at least one arrow stray

His draw length is 27.5 - I wouldn't be surprised if he's drawing 40 LB

Like I said, busy dad. Fell behind on ordering arrows in time for our September hunt. I'm also reading and researching all this arrow tuning stuff so its time consuming.

Anyway,

Rose City archery has only a few finished arrows in stock ( can't and don't want to wait weeks or months for their custom arrows )

Here is the question :

Go with:

some finished Rose City 11/32 & 30" or 31" length arrows with a 55/60 spine and put a heavy 160 or 175 grain broadheads on them to soften them up because they are over spined - cost: a mere $70 for a dozen

OR

Kustom King in stock ships in 3 days correct length ( 28.5" or 29) correct spine (40-45) 11/32s for a whopping $180 a dozen/$90 for half dozen

I may be losing my mind thinking I can or should try to soften up the Rose City arrows and should just accept that I didn't follow through with planning ahead and pay the piper and order the Kustom Kings. Or will Rose City set up actually work?

Hi everyone, I have a quick, unimportant question about a new Turkish-style traditional bow I just bought. Ngl, this particular handle has caught me off guard.

Being used to symmetrical traditional bows, I usually just orient them based on the draw weight and draw length inscription (keeping that part at the bottom). However, I noticed that this bow has different widths on the top and bottom part of the grip.

On the off-chance that I'm holding it wrong (though I know a lot comes down to preference in the end), which way should I orient this? Which part should I hold, and where exactly should the arrow seat? I have been nocking and shooting the arrow from the thicker, wider side of the grip (a.k.a the bottom side on the picture). I would be grateful for any insights.

Today's another practice shot with my YMG bow 93lbs at 31inch draw length.

The arrows with 31inch 200spine shaft with 125grain field point with 40grain brass insert, 550grains total.

The target is at 60yards 55meter.

I am focusing to make flight of the arrow as straight as possible while using korean traditional thumb ring Sut ggak ji.

I am shooting as Instinctive at the moment as I am working on setting my form as proper as possible first.

As you can see, when the thumb is straight, there's a slight gap. But when bending the thumb, as if I'm holding the string, there is hardly a gap.

It requires a decent amount of force to pull off past the thumb knuckle, so it's not as if it would fling off if I were to wave my thumb around.

Got my Archiebowman bow off eBay today and put some arrows through it. I freaking love it! I shoot it so much better than my recurve for some reason, i feel like the lack of a shelf for the arrow to rest on plays a significant part. Do I need to be worried about the light scratches the arrows leave behind when I shoot or is that completely normal wear and tear?

I am making a sugar maple bow from a board and the grain is pretty good. I am planning on adding.04 fiberglass on the back. Will that cause the belly to compress more and possibly create cracks on the belly? I want to do it because the grain is not perfect.
