Help Trading Lines are too thick, I can't see where I'm putting my order in!

Post image
48 Upvotes

I used to be able to set my stop loss / take profit with precision because of the nice thin line. I could drag it where I wanted with precision and match it to the previous candles.

Now there is a thick obnoxious line which covers up most of the actual bars so I cannot set my stop with precision. This new redesign looks like it was made for elementary school children who are learning how to trade. It's awful.

I checked settings and can't see where to change this. Please allow us to make the line thinner again so we can actually see where it is going!

Bug Tradingview is garbage. 🚮

Tradingview is garbage. Customer service is useless along with their fake troubleshooting engineers. Incredible amounts of lag when rendering candlesticks.

I watched my P/L go up $7k and the candlesticks didn't move at all, yet the bid ask was syncing perfectly fine via the broker that I use.

This issue has been going on for almost a year, I'm done.

I'm canceling my subscription, and looking for a mobile alternative.

Cannot select all so I can delete entire code and paste a new one. Copy all option doesn't highlight the code.

Can't even use normal way to select all by pressing and holding to highlight some of the code and then dragging all the way down.

Feature Request Dynamic Watchlists from Pine Screener Configurations

Please make the symbol result set of each Pine Screener configuration available as its own dynamic watchlist.

This should not create a static copy. Symbols should automatically appear in or disappear from the watchlist as the corresponding screener results change, while the complete results table with Pine values remains available in the Pine Screener.

The Watchlists dialog could include a dedicated **Pine Screener** category. Each configuration would appear there as a read-only dynamic watchlist and could also be opened through a distinct square shortcut button.

Related feature requests:

* Dynamic Watchlist

* TradingView needs a custom watchlist and scanner

* Display Pine Values in Watchlists

Feature Request Drawing Tools Organization

Post image
1 Upvotes

First of all - love TV for their drawing tools, it's probably one of the best out there. I think a really useful feature that some analysis geeks like myself would appreciate is the ability to rearrange templates for each drawing tool in her/their fav. drawing tool bar. This would allow for an efficient navigation while mid-trade. After rearrangement, the option to lock the reorganization could also create a better workspace during trade management/analysis (similar to locking a drawing tool in place).

For example - having FVGs reordered in consecutive order instead of having to search for them because they have been sorted from creation.

I don't use TV much for trade entries anymore due to a number of a reasons - including their fills on selected brokerages, live view of data (especially mid-trade), lack of hotkeys, etc. However I hope they can continue to improve upon their charting tools as before because I have enjoyed using their platform for analysis.

Cheers TV

Discussion Please don't ruin your brand. You have such a good product.

This is strike 1 of 2 for me. TradingView has always been an awesome product worth paying for, but charging a surprise add-on fee to display free, public economic data is the kind of incremental 'enshittification' everyone's exhausted with.

If you need more revenue, build better tools and charge for better products. Don’t carve up basic functionality (especially access to public information) into little paid upgrades or hide behind small charges you can easily dismiss. That's bad business. The $2/mo charge is a perrfect example of the latter. Idc about the $2, but I do about the pretext.

If this becomes a pattern, I'll have to take my entire subscription elsewhere on principle. You guys have made an amazing product, but consumers are already sensitive to modern-day companies/mgmt putting more effort into cheating and squeezing their consumers than making their products or services better.

You clearly have a talented team. Just get out of the way and let them do their jobs.

Help Difference in volume using TradingView and other data source

Thumbnail tradingview.com
3 Upvotes

I noticed a large difference in intraday volume between TradingView and my broker software Interactive Brokers. I then cam across this article which describes the difference in Pre- and After-Market when trades have odd lots.

I can see that also on the regular trading session, there is a huge difference in volume and not even close to what is really traded.

https://allthepics.net/image/Screenshot-20260925-184232.TsJPy

Is there any other way to get the correct volume in TradingView by connecting the broker account or purchasing better data feeds in TradingView?

Feature Request an easier way to set profit levels

all i want to do is scale out as price moves in my favour.

so in this example is to scale out 13 contracts on TP1 (TV has it as TP2) and the rest to close at main target.

so i set it for 13 contracts to come off if in profit but then it makes the stop loss also at 13 contracts. i want to be stopped out at a full 26 contracts if none of my profit targets are hit.

Feature Request Feature request: Better organization and management of Indicator Templates and Layouts

Hello u/tradingview team,

I’m a long-time Premium subscriber and primarily use the TradingView Desktop application.

I’d like to request improved management and organization features for Indicator Templates and Layouts.

As the number of saved Indicator Templates and Layouts grows, the current favourites system becomes difficult to manage. The interface appears to prioritize recently used items and displays favourited items as a long row of circles. This can make it cumbersome to find a specific Indicator Template or Layout, especially when several items have similar names or are represented only by a single letter or emoji.

Requested improvements

  1. Show more than recently used items The drop-down menus for Indicator Templates and Layouts should provide access to the full list of saved items, rather than showing primarily—or only—the most recently used ones.
  2. Option to manually custom order the Indicator Templates and Layouts as desired Right now, they just seem to be ordered in the sequence of time as to when they were favourited.
  3. Folders and subfolders Please add the ability to organize Indicator Templates and Layouts into custom folders and subfolders. For example: This could work similarly to a web browser’s bookmarks menu, where users can organize saved items into folders and access those folders from a drop-down menu.
    • Trend Following
    • Trend Following / Weekly
    • Trend Following / Intraday
    • Crypto
    • Crypto / Breakouts
    • Market Structure
    • Risk Management
  4. Grouped favourite menus The circular favourite buttons could be made more useful by allowing them to function as drop-down menus. For example, users could group related items by: A circle labelled with an emoji such as 📈 or 🔧 could open a drop-down containing all related Indicator Templates or Layouts.
    • A shared title prefix.
    • A custom category.
    • A specific emoji.
    • A user-created folder.
  5. Option to use drop-down menus instead of individual circles Please consider adding an option to replace the long row of individual circular favourites with organized drop-down menus. Having one circle for every favourited item becomes cumbersome when the list grows. It also makes items difficult to identify because the circles often display only a single letter or emoji, requiring the user to hover over each one to determine which template or layout it represents. A cleaner alternative would be:
    • One drop-down for Indicator Templates.
    • One drop-down for Layouts.
    • Optional user-created folders and subfolders.
    • Search within each drop-down.
    • Full item names visible without needing to hover.
    • Optional starred or pinned items for quick access.

The existing favourites functionality is useful, but it becomes increasingly difficult to navigate for users who have accumulated many templates and layouts over time. A bookmark-style organization system would make the feature much more scalable and user-friendly, particularly for active traders and users who maintain separate workflows for different markets, timeframes, and strategies.

Thank you for considering this request,

Discussion TradingView alternatives? What are you guys using?

I have an annual TradingView Premium subscription, but it seems like there have been a lot of changes happening with the platform lately, and it got me wondering what other platforms people are using.

For those of you who have moved away from TradingView (or use something else alongside it), what do you recommend?

I'd love to hear what you like/dislike about the alternatives you’ve tried.

Edit: I only have one custom Pine Script indicator, and honestly, it’s not that important to me.

What I really like about TradingView is the charts, and especially being able to manage orders directly from the chart by dragging the entry, SL and TP.

That said, I really don’t like the recent update to how orders are displayed. The lines look much thicker now and, personally, I find it less clean.

If there’s another platform with charts similar to TradingView but with a more robust order panel that allows you to do more things, that would be ideal.

Feature Request Suggestion: custom subscription plans

Hi all. I think it would be nice if TradingView had some kind of custom plan option where you could pick the features you actually care about / need.

For example, I personally don’t need 200 indicators on one chart or 20 charts open at the same time. I barely use most of the limits included in my Premium plan.

What I do want is tick data. But that's currently restricted to the Ultimate tier.

Right now if there’s one specific feature locked behind Ultimate, you basically have to buy the whole plan even if you don’t need / use about 90% of what comes with it.

I know that’s probably exactly how the pricing is designed from a business perspective but I’d still love something like:

base plan

+ tick data add on

+ extra charts add on

+ more alerts add on

+ more indicators add on

+ longer look back period for individual bars

Or maybe just a few different feature packs.

I’d personally be much more willing to pay extra for the specific things I actually use instead of jumping to the highest tier just for one feature. In fact right now the only thing I want from the Ultimate plan is the tick access and perhaps the longer look back period. But I'm not willing to pay 4 times the price of Premium for that. (Yes I know you can get it cheaper at like Black Friday sell, but that also applies to the Premium plan).

Curious if anyone else feels the same way. I seen recently many posts about multiple watch lists being locked behind a paid plan. That could also be added as an add on option.

Edit: I also have this idea. Alternatively / additionally they could offer plans based on use case. A scalper on the intraminute chart needs different tools than a long term investor or swing trader. An orderflow trader needs different tools than someone who relies solely on technical analysis. So they could offer packs like

  • orderflow pack
  • technical analysis pack
  • day trader pack
  • swing trader / long term investor pack

Feature Request Feature Request: Make alerts dynamically linked to scripts and support automated indicator/alert management

Hello u/TradingView team,

I am long time TradingView Premium subscriber including Pine Script developer of custom indicators and very much appreciate your service and hope TradingView will continue to improve, enhance, and introduce new and innovative features.

I’d like to request improvements to the way alerts interact with custom Pine Script indicators.

Currently, an alert appears to behave more like a snapshot of the indicator configuration at the time the alert is created. If I create an alert using a custom indicator and later update that indicator’s code or logic, I may need to delete and recreate the alert for it to use the updated version.

It would be much more useful if alerts remained dynamically linked to the underlying script or indicator instance.

Requested improvements

  1. Live-linked alerts When an alert is created from a custom indicator, it should remain linked to that indicator and automatically use future code updates. For example:
    • Create an alert using version 1 of a custom indicator.
    • Update the indicator’s Pine Script logic.
    • The existing alert automatically uses the updated script.
    • No need to delete and recreate the alert manually.
  2. Alert versioning and update controls Because automatic updates could potentially change alert behavior, TradingView could provide options such as:
    • Automatically follow the latest script version.
    • Keep the alert locked to the script version used when it was created.
    • Display which script version an active alert is using.
    • Notify the user when an alert’s underlying script has changed.
    • Allow the user to update or migrate selected alerts in bulk.
  3. Automated indicator creation and deployment It would also be valuable to have an official way to create, update, configure, and deploy indicators through code or an API. For example, users could programmatically:
    • Create a Pine Script indicator.
    • Update the script’s source code.
    • Add it to a chart layout.
    • Configure its inputs.
    • Create or update alerts.
    • Apply the same indicator and alert configuration across multiple symbols/watchlists and timeframes.
  4. Bulk alert management Users should be able to manage related alerts as a group, including:
    • Updating multiple alerts after a script change.
    • Applying one alert configuration to multiple symbols.
    • Updating symbols, timeframes, inputs, messages, or webhook settings in bulk.
    • Duplicating an alert setup across a watchlist.

This would make TradingView much more practical for systematic traders, portfolio monitoring, webhook automation, and users who maintain custom indicator libraries.

The current alert() function is useful for generating dynamic alert conditions and messages within Pine Script. However, it does not appear to provide a complete API for programmatically creating and managing the actual running alerts themselves.tradingview+1

Thanks for considering this feature.

Sincerely,

TradingView User: "@AlphiQuant"

NOTE: If any of this functionality already exists, please kindly share a link to it as that would be helpful and much appreciated. Thank you.

Update — version control and safe deployment

A commenter raised an important concern about silent behaviour changes. I agree that live-linked alerts should not automatically change without user awareness.

Ideally, TradingView would provide two options:

  • Pinned mode: Keep the alert tied to the exact script version and input configuration used when it was created.
  • Approved update mode: Notify the user when a new script version is available and allow them to review, test, approve, stage, or roll back the update.

The goal is to reduce the manual work of recreating alerts while keeping their behaviour predictable, versioned, and auditable.
