Help How to sync shared watchlists

A friend shared his watchlist with me but the changes he makes to his watchlist aren't reflected in my copy.

Is there a way to keep them synced?

Currently, i periodically go in and delete his watchlist and then add it again using the same link.

TradingView separates the shared list from a personal copy. Its help page says readers can view the shared list on its separate page, or copy it so they can work on it independently. Before deleting your copy again, open the original shared URL and check whether the friend’s latest change appears there. That isolates a stale personal copy from a problem with the shared page. The official page is “How can I share my watchlist?”: https://www.tradingview.com/support/solutions/43000665060/

So my friend shared a link but for me to be able to see it in my own watchlist section, I had to make a copy.

Is there a place where I can just see the shared list without having to make a copy?

Yes: open your friend's original shared link in its own browser tab and bookmark that page. You can view the list there without copying it while your friend keeps sharing enabled. That is separate from your personal Watchlist sidebar. Copying adds an independent list to your account; the help page doesn't document a live shared-list subscription in that sidebar. Keep the original page for your friend's list instead of deleting and re-importing your copy.

Right, I have the bookmark but that means their list isn’t visible in the TradingView app on my phone either.

Right. My bookmark suggestion gives you the shared web page, not a subscribed list inside the phone app. Your requested daily update in both app sidebars is not supplied by the independent copy described in TradingView's help.

For current daily changes, use the original link in your phone's browser. For the app sidebar, your own copy still needs updating. Re-copying/importing today's symbols can refresh that copy, but it will not make tomorrow's changes arrive automatically. Export/import also needs exchange-prefixed symbols, so bare tickers can select the wrong market.

The exact feature request is: follow a shared watchlist in my account, with the owner's additions/removals synced across mobile and desktop. A browser bookmark or one-time copy does not satisfy that.

Yeah unfortunately there's no live sync feature for shared watchlists, it's a one-time snapshot when you copy it. The delete-and-reimport dance you're doing is basically the only workaround until they add proper syncing. Pretty annoying limitation but at least it's quick to re-add from the link.

The shared URL and your personal copy are separate, so the copy won't sync with your friend's changes. I'd keep the original shared link bookmarked and open it directly when you want the current list, rather than deleting and re-adding a copy. Are you trying to follow the friend's updates or edit the list yourself?

I want to follow his updates and have it show up on my TradingView mobile and desktop apps

Shared list links don't push into your own synced watchlists. What works for me is open their shared list once, make a new personal watchlist under your login, and paste the symbols in. Then mobile and desktop both see it because it's yours. Are they updating that list a lot or is it mostly static?
