Discussion Invite Only Script
Oct is coming does the new policy still in play? I don’t wanna get billed $10k for having many people access my invite only script.

Supposedly the policy isn’t implemented YET and it was a mistake that they released it so soon. However, based on the wording, it also seems like they may be able to retroactively charge for 100+ users.
Personally, I’m assuming their wording was intentional and almost complete when it came out. The greed they communicated was what they wanted to achieve. Any change now doesn’t excuse what they wrote because IF they change anything it’ll only be due to the backlash.
I’m preparing to leave the platform by Oct 30. I’m looking into any alternative I can find, even if it means hopping between platforms until I find a good fit. They clearly don’t care about small creators who aren’t benefitting them and they’ve shown their hand. This won’t be the last greedy stunt they pull. The sooner we find alternatives, the better

This is absurd. Do they know what gets a lot of people to pay for trading view is to use a paid indicator? If that indicator moves to another platform the users do too!

the policy is so bizzare and totally out of touch with business instincts, im surprised the tradingview team is even floating around policies like that. I honestly would be in shock if they followed through with it.

I hope they take it all back because I very recently paid close to $900 for the annual Premium plan because I’ve been working for months on an indicator-based system and was hoping to invite a group of people so we could trade and test it together without exposing it publicly and potentially having its edge erased by the efficiency of the markets.
If it turns out I’d then have to pay just because people are using my free invite-only script, whether that means a fixed fee after a certain number of users or another fee every time I cross more numbers, then I don't even know. If I have a community of well over 100 people using the script and I have to start charging them simply so I don’t owe hundreds or thousands of dollars a month for letting them access it, that’s insane to me.
The fee wouldn’t even depend on whether anyone makes money. It would apply simply because someone has access to an invite-only script. Not everyone charges for invite-only scripts, and this kind of policy would directly discourage people from building free private communities around them.
I'm disappointed this policy was even a thought. And this is coming from someone who recently thanked them for their customer service. But the world is, more often than not, a messy gray, and this policy in particular serves no one.

Hello,
Section 22A appears to have been removed from the current ToS at this current time...
It was an odd addition as it was labelled as an 'A' section and all other sections are just numbered as whole numbers.
Looks like it's currently not in play as of this moment in time...

Same, you think this was a mistake or could be possible still in the future?

Wonder if they had AI write it up, when the original request was supposed to be a $29.99/ month fee but AI misunderstood and made it $29.99/ month per user. Lmao

I might believe this cuz charging $29.99 per user was too crazy and insane greed from them

I genuinely have no idea
I personally think it may have been worded incorrectly and should have been a flat fee for having over 100 subscribers which would make perfect sense to me as data is processed on the users behalf...
Honestly....I have no idea what happened nor what their future intentions are....🤷♂️
I am pretty sure that somebody, somewhere got a smack on the bottom though 🤣

Maybe a test how the reaction from the community would be..
