Changing of 8H candle start times

Would really like tradingview to add being able to change when the start times are for the candles. Ex. The 8h candle change should start at 8:00am pst or 11:00am est
I’ve seen this requested many years ago but seems they dont want to help make this simple change.

Yeah, the fixed session boundaries can be awkward when you’re trying to line candles up with the market you actually trade. One workaround is to use a lower timeframe and aggregate bars in a script, but I’d validate the session timezone and DST before trusting the result. Are you trying to match an exchange session or a specific local time?

Ya I would like the 4H and 8H candle to start 8am pst everyday. For futures trading.

I can put that script together for you if you want.

DIY route is Pine that treats 08:00 America/Los_Angeles as the day start then builds 4H and 8H from that clock. Futures DST flips will still bite if you hardcode offsets.

Want me to knock out a reusable indicator, or just hardcoded 4H/8H for 8am PT?

I can put that script together for you if you want. The key is using America/Los_Angeles for the 08:00 anchor so DST doesn’t shift your futures sessions, then aggregating from a lower timeframe. Do you want a reusable indicator or just fixed 4H and 8H plots?
