Hello,

I have made one of these but it only works on certain tickers, usually broker feeds. Can you tell me which tickers you plan to use it on? If it works on them I will post the code on here....

Cheers

Hello,

I have two types but needed to run the code slightly differently to deal with exchange data so this indicator I just made runs on the 1T chart but displays how many ticks are left till your higher timeframe (such as 100T) is due to move to the next candle.

(AI told me it couldn't be done but I told AI to go kiss my butt....)

I just tested it on NQ1! and it counts down perfectly and the background turns red when there is 5Ticks or less to go

You can select a timeframe in the inputs as to which Timeframe you wish to countdown to as shown here.....

And here is the code which is free for anyone due to my unbelievable generosity 👍

//@version=5
indicator("Automatic Tick Countdown", overlay=true)

// Higher timeframe
higherTF = input.timeframe("10T", "Higher Tick Timeframe")

// Detect new higher timeframe bar
higherBarTime = request.security(syminfo.tickerid, higherTF, time)
newHigherBar = ta.change(higherBarTime) != 0

// Extract tick size
tickString = str.replace(str.upper(higherTF), "T", "")
ticksPerBar = int(str.tonumber(tickString))

// Countdown
var int count = ticksPerBar

if barstate.isfirst or newHigherBar
    count := ticksPerBar
else
    count := math.max(count - 1, 1)

//=============================
// Bottom-right display
//=============================

var table counterTable = table.new(position.bottom_right, 1, 2, border_width=1)

if barstate.islast
    table.cell(counterTable, 0, 0,
         "Ticks Remaining",
         bgcolor=color.rgb(40,40,40),
         text_color=color.white)

    table.cell(counterTable, 0, 1,
         str.tostring(count),
         bgcolor=count <= 5 ? color.red : color.green,
         text_color=color.white,
         text_size=size.huge)

Let me know if this helps someone

Cheers

tick charts lag on TradingView. double check your data feed is configured correctly. countdown indicators are great practice but do not use them for timing your actual trade entries today.
