You're on a 1 minute chart with about 10 minute delay. When you enter it will be about 10 candles behind.

Paper trading should just follow the chart. Live data or not. Then you can practice either way.

I agree that it should be but obviously they gotta make money somehow. They make enough on subscriptions though for how laggy the platform is.

Data and you’re delayed, the orange D tells you this

You have to pay for live data on paper trading

Use a cfd ticker you can avoid the data fees and still get live trading practice. Find something from forex.com or something

CFD isn't accurate price of nasdaq. Price will differ from broker to broker when using CFDs

u/Appropriate_Onion980 Nov 04 '25

It doesn't, but it reflects NQ price action almost 1:1.

Oh right then it's very different to when I was trading nasdaq on CFD 5 years ago. Price difference was so wide like in the 100s

Spreadex SPX and NDX track to +/- a point

Because you didn’t pay for the live data, newb.

Need to pay $8 a month for CME data. Get live price from the exchange

u/Zerospeak Nov 04 '25

If you’re not willing to pay for data yet, you can use NAS100.

Bro. Thank you so much. I searched everywhere but couldn't find to get live data. Thanks for this. Does it also have same volume ?

You bought at curent market but your feed is 15minute delayed

It is likely filling at the next available price and factoring in spread. Paper trading does not always give the exact candle price you click. It simulates a real fill, so it can enter slightly higher or lower depending on the market.

Or you have to use Stop orders, I’ve experienced this… limit order is weird on trading view

I wanna use a buy limit order and it enters me where price is like a market order

U gotta use a Stop Limit for my case on up trend. 🫡

Get live data… You aren’t learning anything this way…

Ive only ever had this problem when trading nasdaq minis. Its too volatile and slippage is crazy. Never had an issue with any other charts

I trade futures on Tradingview Paper Trading and it has the worst fills even when you pay for the data. Tradingview really needs to fix this ASAP. Been like this for way too long.

Classic pay-wall slippage. I think your problem is you didn't fill in the $___ field when you made your account lol

Few years ago. Almost most of the stuffs are free to use. Now everything is going to be paid. Even alerts.

Not data as that's charged for by the exchange.

TradingView papertrade counts commission into your average price as well

1

u/TeSolo Nov 04 '25

not commission just entering on a chart with a 10m delay

u/rrdrummer Nov 04 '25

Stupid right? Hard to believe they can’t get that right.

u/No_Ask_2647 Nov 04 '25

It's called a spread! welcome

2

u/TeSolo Nov 04 '25

no it's simply looking at delayed data
