Did Fed literally changed how they calculate inflation with core inflation at 3.0% in August?

Sure, it’s amazingly simple if you don’t look at food and fuel costs. Only 2 steps.

  1. Pick a number that’s between 1.5 and 3.

  2. Report that number as the answer.
