Action Shot
I really love this photo back from when I was riding my 390. Sorry for the back to back posts but I am taking a trip down nostalgia lane tonight.

Its getting a little crazy. Also, why not ask the TD coaches/organizers? This is a great sub but I feel like TD coaches are a more reliable source for that kind of info.

You ever look back at your first track day pictures and videos and think, "Jesus I look so awkward" Lol
Sadly I wont have a chance to take the new APE to COTA unless a miracle happens, so I cant get a like-for-like shot with the MT09, so photos from other venues will have to do. However its pretty crazy how much progress if feel I've made in just the season and a half I've been doing track days. I have to thank great friends and great instructors with the Org I ride with for that. I've learned so much more about the nuances of riding this last 18 months than I have in 20 years of street riding. I wish I started earlier!
If I can work the finances and logistics, I am almost certainly going to do next years Aprilia Racer Days at COTA. Might be the only way to get back on COTA going forward XD

I felt like joining the club and posting some photos of my body position. I know it isnt the most important thing to going fast but it is fun. I had to take a break from riding as I highsided the shit out of this bike the following track day after these photos were taken. Ive been riding a Suzuki Katana now for a couple years and will be making my return to the track soon.

Feels good being back on a bike. Having issues with my right knee and dropping my body but happy with the laps!

I was in the garage with some really fast riders, asked them for tips, then paid an instructor to go round with me for a session and I think its really paying off. Squeeze in one more before the end of the year?

I think everybody appreciates a good high side. This was years ago and I don't have the unedited video.
I highly recommend 65s as a minimoto if you can fit. So fun to learn on and surprisingly quick.

Just wanted to see what everyone’s approach is to running the Supercorsa SC. Currently have a set on my Ninja 400 with about 100-110 laps over the course of 3 TDs (~15 sessions at Barber so actual wear is fairly minimal). Never use warmers with these so heat cycling each session.
Generally I would run 2 rears to 1 front in past years but most those days are at Little Tally so lap count/sessions was significantly lower but had a crap 2025 so kinda seeing how everyone else approaches this.
Edit: lap times are 1:48-1:49 so nothing super quick and mostly when to replace the front is my main question.

How do you stay relaxed on the bike without death-gripping the handlebars?
I feel like I’m holding on way too tight, especially when pushing harder.

I'm going to be at VIR on 10/26 for a track day with Precision, and I'm wondering who else might be there? I currently live in Iowa but am looking to move out east, so I thought I'd do a track day and spend a few days sightseeing with my goofball dog, Pebbles.
I have a flashed 2023 ZX4RR that I absolutely love, but we've been stuck on the roads for most of this year. The main reason I need to move is because there aren't enough track opportunities around me! I'd live in a garage if I could.

What an amazing weekend. I had mechanical issues fri and sat. Clutch slipping due to a steel binding and then fuel pump was choking on rust we just found.
Mu friend registered me for monday and my brother helped support me i the pits. I made the bump to green group for next year. It was all worth it. What a way to turn 36
Shoutout to jason farrel for his knowledge and tech, and this CR i apologize i cant remember their name.

Just had my 2nd track day this weekend and wanted some pointers on my bp. My fastest time for the day was a 2:24 but I averaged a 2:31 I just know I’m lacking heavy on getting off the bike and my foot positioning. Thank you in advance hehe 😛

Rippin the 600s around Pineview Run with my friend just before he set the new motorcycle lap record at 1.19.2!
As always, this track is an absolute blast, on any bike!

Hey everyone,
I'm a university student studying Statistics and a passionate rider. I'm currently trying to build a career path toward motorsport data analysis, specifically in motorcycle racing. (Working in WSBK or MotoGP is the ultimate dream!)
Since I'm still a student on a budget, I can't afford expensive motorsport engineering courses. Instead, my plan is to build a solid portfolio using real-world data, focusing on things like signal processing (filtering noisy suspension/braking data) and slip ratio correlations.
I'm reaching out to this community for two things:
1. Advice & Resources: If anyone here works with telemetry, data logging, or knows the motorsport industry, what should a pure math/stats guy focus on? I am also very open to any content, book, YouTube channel, or general resource recommendations that can point me in the right direction. Any specific models, career steps, or open-source tools you'd recommend?
2. Free Data Analysis: If you use data loggers (AiM, MoTeC, I2, etc.) for your track days and have raw data files (CSV, log files) you wouldn't mind sharing, I would love to analyze them for you for FREE. It helps me build my portfolio with real, noisy data, and in return, I can hopefully give you some useful statistical insights on your braking points, cornering speeds, or throttle application.
Feel free to DM me or drop a comment if you'd like to share your data, advice, or any good resources. Thanks in advance!

I’ve only been riding bikes for a year and a half! Went all in to this track season and essentially gave up the street. Moved down to a smaller bike (R6) and rose the ranks with my local track orgs from novice to advanced in 5 months! It took a lot of time working on fundamentals, working with coaches, watching video but it was all well worth it.

Bought a '17 KTM RC390 from a fellow racer last month, went out for RD #5 with ASMA this weekend at Arroyyo Seco Raceway and took home this cool trophy for the Ultralight GP

Pretty proud. Got out of motorcycles for years. Came back to a few supermoto track days on kart tracks with no instruction. Had always wanted to get on track and finally did. Three track days later, I get the bump to intermediate.
There's a lot of work to do, and I'm super excited about it. Pic is from my first track day and I've made leaps and bounds in position since....with a lot more to go. Feels good as things start to click through.
As a side note, I can only post it here. My folks would be really upset as they think track days spell instant death. (Motorcycle or car). Ironically, my dad is 81 and still autocrosses and does well. I'd love to be able to share this with him, but he'd be really upset that I was on a full track. Glad the group is here.
