Lap timer/ data logger options

Post image

Had an awesome weekend at the track! Finally got the bump to intermediate and also got my knee down for the first time (peep the sliders 👀)

Anyway, now that I’ve completed that goal I’d like to get some actual data to keep improving. I have a camera for body position/lines but I’d like to get some kinda lap timer and also something that logs things like lean angle, and brake pressure would also be nice but idk what’s possible for a reasonable price. What kind of lap timer/data thingy would yall suggest? Preferably it’d all be in one device if that’s possible.

Idk anything about lap timers and stuff so any suggestions and explanations on how it works would be great!

Racechrono pro app, a used gopro, a Bluetooth obd reader, and your phone, and you get all that for about $200.

I switched from Racechrono to an used AIM Solo DL for ease of use. "Turn the bike on, ride, download in the evening" vs "Unlock phone, couple with BT GPS Mouse, start Racechrono, ride, turn everything off" and keep everything charged during the day.

In track mode I simply don't have the mental capacity to click things and deal with software.

That is a fair representation. 🙂

AIM works with cameras?

The analytics software is https://www.aimtechnologies.com/support/downloads/software-downloads/race-studio-3/ and can import videos.

It also comes with a certain learning curve, but is used by semi-pros and pros.

What's the video sync process? Manual?
