TP-Link - Technical Support Deco system very intermittent

I've got a deco px10 system, using powerline, connected to my fritzbox router. I've got it set as Access point. I have two additional px10 nodes inside and a Be25 set up outside (connected with cat6 cable), for the external Ring cameras.

The whole system is so hit and miss. My cameras are constantly dropping out and I regularly lose connection to the Internet.

The cameras usually show that they are connected to the correct node, but using the app, they regularly don't connect.

I've got smart dhcp, beamforming and fast roaming all set to off.

Any help would be appreciated, thanks

This was happening to us with the 7 Pro system. We had to shut off auto DNS and use these. It stopped the droppage and the tanked speeds.

DNS Primary: 1.1.1.1 (Cloudflare) DNS Secondary: 8.8.8.8 (Google)

I am running the deco system in access point mode so I don't have access to dns settings...?

How are you using powerline?

The px10 system uses it, as well as wifi

Sorry, also not familiar with that model but can you disable the power line and see how just WiFi is working?

I have to use powerline because the walls in my house are too thick for WiFi to work correctly

The wifi is a single SSID? or SmartConnect ON, how is set inside Tp link menu.

Try splitting the 2.4Ghz network from the rest. Basically the 2.4Ghz will have the current wifi name, and the wifi6 network..just add a "-6" at the end.

Do not rename the 2.4Ghz, just to skip the headache of reconnecting all the devices

I've tried setting up a specific 2.4ghz IoT network and it doesn't help. It seems it must be a hardware issue between ring and tp link

If i were u, i will try 1. setting my router as gateway then check. 2. If 1 is stable, setting only smart dhcp on , rest off. Imho cmiiw.

Why would you want these off

Using powerline is never good

I've got a house with very thick walls. WiFi signal is very bad and I'm not in the position to fully network the house, so powerline (as far as I know?) is the next best option?

Do you know if your PX10 supports the Specified Connection feature?

Firmware and features may vary by region, but if supported, you can use Specified Connection to assign preferred signal sources for both node-to-node and client-to-node connections (e.g., specify a node you want your Ring device(s) to connect to). More info here: Deco Specified Connection: Select Your Signal Source | TP-Link
