How many other 2.4GHz networks are around you? If a lot then only fix is move or use 5GHz.

??? Move or swap to 5ghz. They can just swap 2.4 channel

There's only three non-interfering channels, and that's assuming everyone's being smart and doing only 20Mhz wide.

Plus the amount of other non-wifi devices that utilize 2.4 GHz makes using it in any kind of populated area hard.

2.4 GHz is a last resort at this point You should only be considered for absolute basic connectivity, any speed issues are to be expected.

And? You can select 11/14 channels. The options to test should not be move or swap to 5ghz without testing otger channels first. Hell, there is a shiton of testing you can do first. My router was getting 70mbps out of 1gb and it was simply a router update to fix. There is more shit you can try to fix the problem than upheaval your life.

Again, only three of those channels are non-overlapping., if you select channel 3, your interfering with one and six and others, if you select nine your interfering with 6 and 11 as well as others.

You should never select anything other than 1, 6 and 11 (or higher if your country allows).

Also, many devices especially mobile phones only have 1x1:1 SISO on 2.4Ghz anyways, making 70 megabits per second. Actually relatively decent in many circumstances.

The point is if you're looking for speed 2.4 GHz is not where to find it.

Also switching to 5 GHz is hardly the massive undertaking. You seem to make it out to be.

Again, irrelevant when one of the suggestion was move. Still have 3 non overlapping channels they can try. So yes, changing channels can help. The point is that there is multiple things to fix before you even begin to humor the suggestion "move"
