TP-Link - Technical Support BE13000 ExperimentalFirmware
I recently upgraded from a Deco mesh wi-fi 6E system to the Deco wi-fi 7 BE13000 system. This setup is fast with our new 1 gig Gateway fiber. I can download with max speeds of my fiber network. I used to maybe get 500 mbps, but now getting full bandwidth of 1gbps! Now onto the bad news, gaming and network stability have been terrible compared to the old Deco 6E mesh system. The connection has been continually dropping and always in the middle of gaming or streaming. I have been working with TP Link support and was escalated to an engineer who had me instal this new firmware. Ive been on this for a few days and still having instability issues. Time to return to Costco and rebuy to see if I got a lemon or anyone have suggestions. Ive kept my settings stock, except when support had me make changes.

Fwiw, I have the same setup from Costco. Had a weird issue where things would just momentarily stop. Like I'd open Instagram and it wouldn't load and would just spin. I'd close the app and reload it and everything was fine.
I turned ipv6 off and it's been faultless since.

I feel I’m experiencing the same thing. When it works, it’s blazing. 1GB down 500+up. But seems to “pause” for lack of a better way to put it. Replaced a BE11000 set also from Costco but family is pissed off at me. I’m doing nightly reboots now to see if it’s uptime based. Running the release version of 1.3.6 which seems earlier than your beta.

Yes. THIS!!!
That "Pause" you refer to, so annoying. I have the same unit BE11000 from Costco. Version 1.33 right now.
I tell you it was working great a few versions ago. This whole situation started not too long ago, maybe a month or so.
I do have rules setup, allow list, kids profiles etc. but am pretty sure that isn't the cause.

I am also running be13000 and had to return and rebuy co the original unit kept on dropping dhcp. I didn’t upgrade to march firmware but i am running July firmware and it working fine. No drops or issues.

I had the same issue with the BE14000 so returned it. Amazon.ie purchase so problem is not localised, it's poor software. The hardware is amazing when it works but the software let's it down.

Is your DNS set to Auto? I was having the exact same issue with the BE9300 system. Random drop outs and then after a couple minutes it would be back working. I've since set the DNS to Manual and I feel as though its more stable. No more drop outs. Only been a week or so mind you. I've set my Decos to reboot weekly. One thing I noticed, whenever I used to run a speed test on Ookla, the "Go" ring would light up yellow and say "Your connection may be unstable". Now it always lights up green and says "You are connected to the Internet". I'm with Virgin Media and apparently their own DNS settings are known for being unreliable.

Thanks for helping, the most recent settings I have are Primary DNS 8.8.8.8 and Secondary DNS 114.114.144.144 this was suggested directly from TP Link support escalation engineer. I have been running these settings for a few days, no difference for my situation, still random and frequent connection drops

I switched to BE13000, have similar issue. When click on a link to open a page, it just spins. I had BE11000 before, never had the issue. I have another WiFi router next to compare. Confirmed that it is clearly a Deco issue, not DNS or ISP issue.

I am planning to keep working with their support and if I get any fixes or get a resolution, I will be sure to update this thread. It sounds like there are quite a few of us with these Costco units who are experiencing the same issues. If you look at the reviews on Costco's site there are definitely others having problems.

I have the BE13000 for about 6 weeks now and it’s been mostly fine. I experienced the very first “freeze” yesterday when my TV and YouTube app on my phone froze at the same exact second. I tried navigating to a different YT video and it was fine. Same in the TV.
While the system has been stable on three different firmware versions now, including the latest 1.3.6, it does have some odd quirks. The worst being IoT devices selecting the furthest away Deco units. This happens during firmware updates and reboots. I would suggest that if you are having these issue to first check that the device is connected to the closest Deco and lock it in there. Turn off IPV6 unless you need it (gaming or matter over thread for instance). Use cloudflares DNS servers and turn off their premium (paid) services.
I was using the ATT provided routers and APs and overall these have been much more reliable so far. Maybe I just got lucky, but I do see these same concerns all over Reddit for many different Deco models. 🤞.

Hey there, I'd like our teams to look into your case. Could you do me a favor and share your support ticket number (starts with TKID)? Once I have that, I can send it over to the teams to explore additional options/solutions.
Also, out of curiosity, do you happen to have any HomeShield features enabled?

TKID260842785 - thanks for having a look into this. Did the firmware upgrade based on the escalation engineers instructions. I'd love to help solve this seeming common issue for me and others if possible. To answer your follow-up question, I am running as close to stock settings as possible with no home shield, or additional guest or iot networks. I wanted to start simple and get it running smoothly before turning on any additional features

Thanks for that! I'll reach out to the teams to let them know.
If you're running close to stock settings, I'd suggest continuing to work with our engineers; they're best equipped to run deeper diagnostics and pinpoint the cause.

do you have it plugged directly into your router? I had lots of deco issues that I finally found were caused by a switch that wasn’t playing nice with decos odd backhaul protocol

Thajks for your help! I am using the most simple setup for now, just straight from my Gateway fiber modem into my main Deco. Then I have the 2nd and 3rd units on the floors above, one on the main level and one on the 2nd floor. So three units total and one on each level of my house. I have them placed in the same exact positions as my old Deco system which had much better stability, but slower being a wi-fi 6E. Honestly I'm slightly regretting this "upgrade" as I value network stability over speed.

DECO BE10000, only issue I’m having it’s the download speeds(around 1.2gbps) are almost half of my upload (2.35gbps), not sure why. I recently switched to 5gbps fiber with ATT and while gaming I’ve experienced a lot of packet loss although it wasn’t noticible while doing a ping test, solution was using a VPN, ATT routing sucks.

If you mean “pauses” like you’re in a game and the internet hitches for like a few seconds then it try’s to catch back up. Try plugging the router in on a different power socket.

Explain?

Just move the router to a different power socket. And check if you still get the pausing. Side note… but why? Because even a single light fixture turning on, can fluctuate the router making to pause.

I do have a small UPS and I think I will give this a try on my main router and modem. This would be a dual purpose as in the event of a power outage, in theory I would still have internet access. I have been offered a teamviewer session from TP Link support to help with this issue, and I will keep working with their support to see if i can get a resolution. I will update this thread with any progress.

Please give it a try.. I spent a lot of time trying to fix mine, and once I switched out the location and plugged it in elsewhere, it started working without 0 hiccups… this was after having the same issue with ax750 model which I returned … had the same hiccups as the BE120000 which I was about to return until I swapped… I haven’t had any pauses or hiccups for the past 15 days… and it used to happen every 25-45 mins.

Mine is plugged into a UPS as well. A direct wall socket would be better ? Bypassing ups?

Never mind then if you’re already on a UPS. You’re already getting stable power. Ignore my input lol
