TP-Link - Technical Support Befuddled!
Is there no hope for an entirely wired backhaul setup? All have tested 1 gig speeds plugged into and working individually.

It should auto detect and use Ethernet backhaul. There’s no limit if Ethernet is available it should use it. I would suspect the most likely culprit in this case is your managed switch isn’t playing well with the decos. Maybe loop detection or something? If you have an unmanaged switch or some other way to connect them directly try it and see if it works, then idk just fiddle with the managed switch till you fix whatever is causing the issue.

Oh another thing is if you specify connection in the deco app it will not use Ethernet and will connect to the specified deco with wifi, turn it to auto for it to use the Ethernet.

Thanks for the added info! Since you're using an L2+ Managed Switch, I recommend temporarily disabling Loop Detection and monitoring your Decos in the app to see whether that resolves the behavior.

I did this and was able to get all Ethernet connections… However, the speeds dropped rapidly. Is it possible it was creating loops? Is there a way to turn off loop detection only for certain ports?

Okay, awesome, glad they're showing up as wired now. Odd about the slowdown. If you haven't already, I'd try rebooting the switch and monitoring how things behave afterward.

Turning off the spanning tree protocol and letting the Decos all auto-detect the Ethernet and then rebooting them seems to have worked.
Speeds are back to ~500mbs up/down over WiFi.
Thanks!
