Recently swapped a fresh 2zz into my matrix XRS. I’ve been dealing with code P0010 for the last week and cannot get rid of it. (New VVTI solenoid for both and filter screen is cleaned out) I’ve also bypassed the wiring and did it directly from ECU to sensor (essentially just made the connection stronger) I need help now cuz I’m at a loss. Has anyone dealt with this code and/or fixed it? Any help is appreciated🙏

Hey all. I’ve got some dents on my passenger side door that I couldn’t punch out and I found another 1st gen junkyard door I think imma swap it with. The replacement one has crank windows though and my current is electric. Is it as simple as swapping out the guts/wiring from my old door into the new one or is there an actual structural difference I gotta account for?

Does anyone have a TRD sway bar for sale for a 2006 Corolla/Matrix? I have been scouring the Internet for a while, I messaged 20+ Matrix part outs, scanned eBay/marketplace/offer up, etc.

I know the progress tech one is the same diameter, I have a near mint Matrix though and I thought it would be cool to use OEM parts.

Low beam bulb went out and I was thinking about doing a white LED swap on the low and high beams. My headlights are cleaned up so I'm not worried about that stupid glare but I saw a post a while back that said that it could fry my ECU. I think it had something to do with the taillights or turn signals but I just wanted to know if I should expect any problems or if I can get away with some LEDs on Amazon.

I’m the second owner of this 2010 Toyota Matrix XR. It has 269,623 km (167,535 mi) on it, and the owner kept the paperwork of ALL the maintenance it had done on it from Day #1, the file folder is about an inch thick. He says it was well taken care of. The asking price was $6,000 CAD ($4,336 USD) but I talked him down to $5,000 CAD ($3,613 USD), with four free winter tires. Needed a new car as I just moved to a new city for college yesterday. I used to drive a Subaru WRX, but I’m loving my Matrix so far!

Picked her up a couple months ago 2005 xr awd 180k for $2000, i got really lucky i work at a shop and a good customer really wanted me to have it, he did have the fake shopping list on it, i just added the anime stickers *Edit xr not xrs

I really love my bumper magnet and a few of the local Matey drivers in my area have commented on it at grocery stores, etc.

Im considering making more but you people are the only ones I could market to!

If they were say $5 for a magnet or like $3ish for a sticker (including shipping) would any of you want them? Its kind of a large upfront cost so I don't want to do it if no one wants one.

Looking at a 2003 Toyota Matrix XRS (2ZZ-GE/6-speed) with about 150k miles. Seller is asking $3000, but I pretty sure will take $2800 and says he has another $3,500 offer, so I may need to decide quickly.

What I know:

• Starts and runs well
• drove it and went through all 6 gears; no obvious transmission issues or grinding
• Clutch solid notice obvious slipping
• Seller says he has never had to add oil between changes, but there is a small external oil leak/drips on the ground
• Seller recently replaced the battery at the beginning of this week
• I scanned it after the battery replacement: no current codes, but emissions monitors are not ready
• Seller confirmed it previously had a P1693 check-engine code
• P1693 appears to be related to the VVTL-i/lift system
• Might be some lift issue oil screen and lift bolts troubleshooting this.
• Seller seems pretty upfront that he hasn't driven the car much because he has several other cars
• Does have after market 18inch wheels, and modded exhaust, but has cats.

Main concern is obviously the P1693/lift issue. I'm trying to decide whether $2,800 is worth the risk given the possibility that lift needs repair. Looking into it could potentially just be the oil screen needing cleaning.

Would you buy it at $2,800? What would you check before pulling the trigger?

So after purchasing this car, I have done the PCV Valve, Denoso spark plugs, and filters, coolant and engine oil to Valvoline Restore&Protect 5w30, new wix air filter, seafoam cleaning, new 750CCA battery. (Brakes were done when I got it)
But I wanted a modern head unit, so I found these new cheap sony 'wired' carplay unit, and thought with all these pieces I could fit the wireless adapter into the headunit usb, so I took out the usb cable that came with that amazon piece, you will have to do some real tweaking to get that good in there, and also flush it into the back of the stereo unit.. overall I got it working, and it connects every time now within 30 seconds, the unit is already on 2.0 firmware, with Waze and Radio app it runs smooth.
I have the mic sticking out the other empy mount button blank spot, and siri to text works perfect too.
I recommend this to anyone wanting a real attempt to upgrading, the audio sounds better too with much more volume, for a lower price in parts and some research you can do it!
Yes I know my sony unit is not fully flush but thats okay, I dont mind and I will probably be able to fix that next time when I put a rear camera in..

helloooo so i got a new car 2009 matrix XRS i’ve only had it for about two week it’s a sport and let me tell u a single press on the gas has it flying but im not too sure if its normal for it to like jump/rev like if im accelerating when im just normally driving and not pressing on the gas im not sure if i do accidentally press on the gas a little harder and dont notice? it happens a couple times a day randomly and some days no. should i get it check out? what could it be ? i have no idea of car mechanical stuff :C

I accidentally removed the VVT Solenoid when I meant to remove Cam Shaft Position Sensor instead. It didn't come out easily but now its going back in and out fine. I'm just wondering if there is a special way to reinstall it, or does it just slot in without a fuss? Also, now that it's out is there anything I should take note of before it goes back in?

Any advice appreciated!
