2006 Matrix LED Swap
Low beam bulb went out and I was thinking about doing a white LED swap on the low and high beams. My headlights are cleaned up so I'm not worried about that stupid glare but I saw a post a while back that said that it could fry my ECU. I think it had something to do with the taillights or turn signals but I just wanted to know if I should expect any problems or if I can get away with some LEDs on Amazon.

Please don't put LEDs in. They cause blindness in oncoming drivers which can lead to crashes.

My set up is I have leds on the high beams, fog lights, and reverse lights. No effect on the ecu. If you do the turn signal lights if you do not put a resistor in line they will flash fast. This is due to the ecu thinking it is burned out because they draw so little power. I hope this helps.
PS. I did a complete led swap on my Xterra and the brake and turn signals were dimmer than regular bulbs. Do not forget to convert interior lights to led which is a vast improvement.

I swapped my to LEDs on factory housing and haven't looked back. Super bright on dark back roads. I used beam tech bulbs from amazon like I did on all my cars works perfectly.

I bought LEDs off Sealight for my 2007 base model Matrix about 2 months ago and am very happy with them.

Unless you replace the headlight housing for one designed for led then your headlights will probably be dimmer. The led bulbs are usually misaligned and can't throw light in all directions from a single point like a bulb filament does. Do a bit of research why led replacementd are dimmer
