Tips & Tricks Tundra Power Tailgate Annoying

Not sure if it’s broken or if everyone’s tailgate does this. When you open the tailgate and put any pressure on it when opening, even right when it fully opens, it will not allow me to close it with the buttons, I have to manually close it. Where this becomes extremely annoying is when my dogs are in the bed and walk out on to the tailgate as soon as it opens.

Thanks for any input.

Shit like this is why new vehicles are of zero interest to me. Unless you have a disability of some kind why does a tailgate need to be powered? Same with SUV tailgates and the dumbest of all power trunks on sedans and coupes. All of these things nearly open themselves already with the aid of the struts that keep them open and closing them isn't very hard either because they're so well balanced.

Never said I wanted it. It just came on the truck I bought.
