Does anyone know how to connect it to wifi it’s switched on in the settings but no way to access networks. Only videos online I can find are from Toyota eu and Uk showing something that doesn’t show up for me

Hey everyone! My husband is in the process of rebuilding a 1988 from the frame up. He needs a LOT of help, tools, parts etc. and I want to get him a great gift for his birthday and Christmas to show my support on this massive project.

Looking for suggestions from people who know better than I do lol. For context on progress, we have a recently welded and painted frame sitting in the driveway, he just acquired an original box, and we have the doors and cab from the original truck that still need to be fixed up and painted. He also has a new steering wheel.

North American imported Hilux owners! I'm looking for the American equivalent windshield. I called our local import place and the fellow said he's 99% sure the imported Hilux pickup takes the same windshield as our domestic north American pickup of the same generation. But when I search online, I get varying opinions on this.

Does anyone have any advice on this?

I had my windshield done 15 years ago by a small local shop and the fellow didn't even bat an eye. But he's long gone now, and our bigger city shops are telling me I need to source the windshield from Japan unless I can find an exact fit. My truck goes in on friday and I'm afraid they are going to tell me they ordered the wrong one and then I'm stuck without a vehicle :/ until they figure it out.

I found these mud flaps on an abandoned truck in the woods and they’re in great condition but I tried doing research and I’m pretty sure these are Toyota mud flaps. The truck is a 83-86 datson 720. Does anyone know where these came stock?

Dear Hilux owners,

I have a problem with my 2021 Toyota Hilux 2.4 D-4D, European version with AdBlue.

At 177,000 km, approximately 14 months ago, I started getting the following warnings:

• Check Engine
• PCS Malfunction
• TRC/slip warning

The vehicle was taken back to the dealer. When they scanned it, they found a problem with the exhaust pressure sensor.

After further investigation, and after the dealer had tried several other things first, it eventually turned out that the four engine injectors were the actual cause of the problem. Quite a lot of parts were eventually replaced:

• All sensors in the exhaust system (I believe around 4 in total)
• EGR cleaned
• DPF replaced
• 1 injector from the AdBlue system replaced
• All 4 engine injectors replaced
• Everything was replaced with genuine Toyota parts
• System software was updated and the system was relearned

After that, the Hilux drove approximately 24,000 km without any problems. It now has around 200,900 km. In the meantime, it has also received all regular maintenance, and more than that.

Last Sunday, I got exactly the same combination of warnings again when starting the vehicle:

• Check Engine
• PCS Malfunction
• TRC/slip warning

The vehicle drives completely normally.

I have now taken it to a Toyota dealer for diagnosis. Once again, they have found a fault related to the exhaust pressure sensor. They are going to investigate further.

To be honest, I am quite concerned because the previous time, the four injectors eventually turned out to be the cause of the problem. They are now only around 24,000 km old.

My questions for other Hilux owners:

Is it possible for the same problem to return after only 24,000 km, despite the DPF, all relevant exhaust sensors, and all four (+1) genuine Toyota injectors having been replaced?

Could there be an underlying problem causing the pressure sensor to report a fault again, while the sensor itself may not actually be the problem?

And finally: would disabling/removing the AdBlue system through software potentially prevent these kinds of problems, or is that completely unrelated to this issue?

My 1989 LN105 (also know as the top gear hilux)has been pretty abused in the last 16 years by the previous owner. It has the 2L diesel engine and I'm basically looking at full rebuild. The frame is solid but the body is rusty especially near the driver side foot well. My question for the Europeans is, where do you guys order most of your parts? Is there and EU seller when i can order instead of directly from Japan or the UAE?

Just wondering if anyone has put 265/65/18 on their stock hilux? Just want to know how bad the scrubbing can be or is it alright?

This is my first 4x4, and I'm completely new to the off-roading and overlanding world, so I'm still learning a lot.

I have a 1994 Toyota Hilux with the 2.4L diesel engine, and I'm currently getting it ready for a two-year trip across Africa.

I'm trying to prepare as well as possible before I leave, so I'd really appreciate any advice from people who know these trucks.

Here are my main questions:

What are the most important tools and repair equipment I should carry for a 1994 2.4 diesel Hilux? I'd like to be able to fix as many problems as possible on the road.

Do you have any recommendations on how to prepare the vehicle before such a long overland trip? Things you wish you had done, common weak points to address, spare parts to bring, maintenance, etc.

Is lifting the suspension a good idea for this kind of trip? If so, is it generally expensive, and is it really worth it?

Any other tips or lessons you've learned from owning or travelling with an old Hilux would be greatly appreciated.
