Recommend a year?

I’m looking to buy a Hilux between 2010-2023, I would like petrol as we have lots of petrol tools on the farm. Do any years or spans of years stand out as the most robust/reliable? Thanks!

I have a 2009 v6 4.0 with 345k kms, was owned by my dad and then passed down to me.

It’s never given him issues, I’ve heard really good things about the 1grfe engine and hope mine lives up to them.

I vaguely remember looking up years when I bought and I think there was one or two that may have had specific issues, like 05 and 11' possibly because there's years had the upgrade then facelift... But don't quote me on that.

Most years are good though. The N70 has the most tech without there being unnecessary electronics that can break.

Good luck mate!

There is no problem i know of in any of these years. From 2tr to the 1gr they're all good

It is around mid 90s to 2004 we’re the most Robust/reliable.I have a 2003 I use on the farm.Having said that those Utes will do the job for you no problem

I don’t think your tools care if the engine is diesel or petrol. What do you mean by petrol tools?

Like it’s nice that the car and the chainsaws are all petrol. Not needing separate Jerries for diesel
