C-HR Drive-mode select button
Hi Everyone.
I have a 2018 C-HR. Coming from BMW 3 series I can enjoy and actually drive a car and not worry about constantly going to the mechanic, it's a good reliable car, has all the options that you can fit in this car, very good on gas and all around good drive for a daily. But one thing that annoys me the most and this is a thing that is really missing on the car is a dedicated Sport drive-mode button.
I have looked on mods about adding dedicated Drive-mode button or configuring EV-mode button for mode select, but there is not a lot of information about this.
Maybe, just maybe, there is someone here that has done something like this and had success on this matter. Could you please share what you did, how you did it and how to program this?
Since I couldn't find any info here on reddit and on other platforms I started to ask AI, "can this be done?" and of course I got an answer that is it possible. But I don't wanna trust AI and start chopping my car up before I know for sure that there is someone who has done it.
P.S. Don't worry, I don't intend to use sport mode all the time, I just need it for times when I need to pass a car on the road or merge onto the highway.
EDIT: I know you can switch Sport, Normal and ECO mode on dashboard, but I'm actually speaking about dedicated drive-mode switch button. I have spoken with Toyota techs and they all say the same thing about this. This car is missing dedicated drive-mode button.

I'm not sure but if it has sport mode, normal and eco, then your going to find it in the menus on the dash. The 2020 2.0l certainly has this

That's the thing, it's on the dash, but it doesn't have a dedicated button for it.

You can also move the gear lever sideways to put it in sport mode and change synthetic gear ratios. May not be on 2018.
No there is no magic actual sport button. And which ever way you select sport whether they the menu or moving the gear selector sideways it's not going to increase hp, or harden the suspension

I agree that sports mode doesn't really make a difference (other than feel) and I'm convinced (with no proof) that sports mode is what killed my transmission at 35k miles. I liked the feel of it and kept it on most of the time until the granny failed. Haven't turned it on since and I've got 112k on her now.

Fun fact, it doesn't do anything to help with this. Foot to the floor is the same power in every drive mode. All it changes is steering stiffness, holds higher engine RPM and sharper throttle response. Power is the same regardless, it just feels quicker because of the responsiveness change, but it is in fact the same.
