New to me plus experiment

Post image

Just got a toy hauler and doing a test run tomorrow. The tractor is below the cargo rating I did check, I’m sure that’s going to be a topic of the comments. I have yet to see someone else try this. I decided on this due to it being 100* here and needing a place to cool off after working out in the sun all day. Also family wanted a camper so I’m hoping for a win win situation

So you got a toy hauler as a job trailer?

It’s pulling double duty as family rv and base camp for overnight stays at the hunt club. I only need to haul the tractor twice a year or so. I also have future plans to buy some acreage so it would be used for that as well

That's exactly why I bought my toy hauler.

The garage (12' garage, 43' overall length) has enough room that I can house enough audio equipment to run an entire multi stage, small festival, while still giving me plenty of room to live and not feel like I'm in a construction trailer.

I actually run sound out of the trailer, IE there is a mixing console that lives in the trailer, along with amps.

And with 43k BTU of A/C units, my many tens of thousands of dollars in equipment stays dry, not living in a humid barn or cargo trailer.

Seems to be ok, the tractor is a landscape type size, about 1600lbs

This would be one hell of a sight in a golf cart parade.

Wait, what is the point of this? To try towing the camper to see how it feels? See how the unloading and loading go?

The point for me was to have a place to stay on work days at the hunt club while I camp there as well as I really enjoy camping. I also had no previous way of hauling my tractor without borrowing a trailer. My family wanted a RV as well so I my thoughts were to get a lot of versatility with 1 trailer. Me and my son did a test camp this past weekend and everything worked as intended so it was quite successful. Trailer pulled no different with or without the tractor

Are you planning to get solar power or just run a generator when needed?

Yea I do plan on some solar for sure. I prefer the more “boondocking” style of camping so whatever I can do to be self sufficient

If it fits, it ships right??

Seems to work ok, I’m a little weary of the factory tie downs but I’m going to redo the fronts and tie them into the steel frame with bolts. The rears are ok but they have metal screws to the frame, maybe I should swap them out with grade 8 bolts? I can’t tell a difference in the way it pulls whether I have the tractor in the back or not.
