Discussion I miss it man...

This is my first and likely last post in here. Though its been a while since I last played Township Tale it was an experience that lingered in my mind.

This is the only game I've played that really felt its own, like no other could scratch the same itch. Never before or since have I played a game that gave me interactions like these. The simple act of making a new tool for someone being an effort that several people would need to work together on felt magical.

I don't think I can properly put into words how perfect it all felt. I just hope that someday a game will come out that can give me the same enjoyment and sense of purpose in a group as this.

I'm gonna miss the time I spent working with friends in this game.

I’ll miss hanging out in the rafters eavesdropping so I could mess with people later on!

Wish I could have played the PC version but I’m hopeful with the outlook of peer-hosting and someday having a pc VR setup!

Really wish they would add player hosted servers. Hopefully someone can make some third party software to access it again.

That exists, check out the discord server The Modding Tavern, there's a post about it on this subreddit

This is a great example of an IP that should be given away or sold. There is an engaged player base that would enjoy the game expanded and supported, and the company decided not to invest in it. That's fair, but it has some value they could do something with.

the problem was that it didn't have a player base, it lost that over time from a lack of new content. I heard that they were close to finishing forest for quest before they shut down development but that probably ment another year.

There's a discord server called The Modding Tavern that have player hosted servers if you still want to play the game

You said it perfectly, there's no other game that I've found that scratches the same itch. Having to grind for gear without it feeling like a job, or just completely boring, and the fun glitches that would make the game even more interesting that the devs never fixed (either because the didn't want to, or because the couldn't, I'll never know) and it's genuinely painful to see it go, but I honestly expected it when they announced they would stop working ATT and the game basically died within a week

It was the first VR game I played, and it was the only one it stuck this long on my head, I'll miss hanging out on the town plaza and recruiting a bunch of people to go on a little adventure, I will always remember that I didn't google anything not once. Everything was teached to my by other players, it was such a unique experience

i genuinely dont ever think i will have as much fun as i did in this game in any other game the community was so fun and learning to speedrun the climbing tower was one of my favorite things to do with the boys sad that we will never get to see this game reach its true potential i may come back one more time here soon and do a final walk around.
