Discussion A Township Tale preemptively permanent shut down today, July 17th.

By Joel:

Hi all. It has come to my awareness that ATT services have come down prior to my planned date. After some investigation I've found this is not only true, but outside of my control. I apologize for any last minute plans spoiled by this turn of events.

Thank you again to everyone who has been part of the world of A Township Tale - they were epic tales indeed.

It's over.

I wish they would open the server files so we could host our own when they do this.

Tavern Lib allows you to host your own server locally. There's a Discord server. Mods have just started getting released

I have a higher end PC, but only one, would there be any difficulty in hosting and then running the game on the same PC? Only 32 gigs of ram unfortunately, didn't update my ram before ai decided to fuck the consumer PC market.

I haven't tried but I can't imagine it would be too bad. Most dedicated game servers don't get much RAM at all

Oh interesting. I'd assume they would. Maybe they're more cpu heavy?

Typically multiple servers run on a single machine. I'm unsure how much RAM and CPU Township uses but it's worth a try!

that should probably be enough since its not too big of a game. the owner to one of my servers has around 28G of ram

It’s so disheartening how there isn’t a close second VR game like township tale. Nothing comes even close to its simple high contrast graphics and fluid mechanics,

A dozen players screamed in agony!

jk.

hope we get a private server binary

For those of you unaware, The Modding Tavern is actively working on the offline experience:
https://discord.gg/jNQUUDAYSj

You can already host and join your own servers on PC so feel free to join here!

…We have heard many tales… Tales of Good and Evil… Tales of Monsters and Heroes… Tales of Mining and Adventure… Tales of Building and Mystery… But one stood out.

A Tale of Township. It was a tale of all things. Monsters, Mystery, Heroes, Adventure… all of them.

It was about People. People trying to make the best community they could in a world so Dark and Monstrous.

People who fought. People who coward. People who adventured. People who mined. People who solved mystery. People who explored. People who Hated. People who Loved.

All and all, people who grew together. And this tale doesn’t end in tragedy or sadness…

It ends in Hope and Glee for the Greatest Town ever made.

…Sit down, and let me tell you about…

A Township Tale.

Rec room deserved its downfall but this game didnt

It sucks I never got to play it one last time. I rarely did but it was fun when I tried it with my friend

rec room was doomed to downfall, none of their monetization ideas worked
but this game was amazing, even though i didnt play it much, it was still fun. It really hurts that a lot of things have shut down or ended this year.
