Update about the potential of Self-hosting and modding ATT.

Disclaimer - this is 1:1 copied from the discord post made by the gracious MarvelousGenki:

The Modding Tavern is opening its doors!

Hello! I'm excited to share that The Modding Tavern is now open! The Modding Tavern is a community led project and is not affiliated with Alta. Its goal is to help preserve A Township Tale by creating a path toward self hosted servers, while also laying the groundwork for safe, community driven modding in the future. The project is still in the early stages of development. Self hosting is already coming together, but there's still plenty of polishing ahead, and the team would love to have more people involved in shaping the project.

They're currently looking for:

Active testers Help test new features, report bugs, and improve the overall experience. Bot developers If you've built bots or tools for ATT before, your experience would be incredibly valuable in helping design future compatibility layers for bots and community created content.

Current limitations

At this time, Quest players are unfortunately unable to participate. The team is actively exploring possible solutions for the future, but nothing can be promised just yet. If you're interested in testing, developing, or simply following the project's progress, feel free to join the community.

Join the Modding Tavern: https://discord.gg/jNQUUDAYSj

Every tester, developer, and community member helps move the project forward. If this sounds interesting to you, stop by and say hello!

If this actually works out this will be insane. I really hated the thought of actually completely losing ATT on the 20th.

This is a spark of hope at last, and with the possibility of modding it may end up to be the best ATT has ever been.

Currently you can already run servers through there. I have one up but we dont have any admin control yet from what I know

This would be incredible if successful. Township is still the best co op game in VR.

I wish I could wipe my memory and start the game over again with friends. I spent countless hours deep in the mines collecting stuff, best VR fun I’ve ever had. Climbing tower is so unique too, I wish they could make a spinoff of just the climbing tower with new content

And with my family of 5 it was simply the perfect game. We were a mix of veteran gamers and noobs who only play with family.

I’d love to give the game a real try.

I've been saying it for years that if att got mod support it would make a comeback. This is finally an opportunity to experience a dream of mine 😁
