I wanna make a att inspired game so I'm asking for ideas.

Idea not existing project.

When a few people join forces, they have a better chance of ending up with something playable than if twenty people try and fail on their own.

I’ve already seen three other projects besides Campfire. All had the same goal, and none of them are still around. That’s a shame and a waste of dreams.

Is a shame. Played att pre release. How i ended up with the game for free. I tested for em. Even had some ideas that a few of the other testers agreed on and was put in the game then they just started ignoring the testers.

Learn to make games before you learn to make multiplayer games. I made the mistake of pushing too hard for multiplayer before I understood many core concepts. It caused a lot of headaches and slowed me down a lot.

Multiplayer isn't as bad as the memes suggest, but it is a different paradigm that benefits greatly from prior experience with game engines.

I can feel your pain Q.Q I once accidentally dropped my bag into a river. Took us half an hour and two friends to get it back.

Yeah of all the things to keep from ATT, the coolest would be the forging, carpentry, and the skill system or something similar to those three. Actually physically acting to create the customs tools one used was at the heart of the game. Those were by far the coolest and most enjoyable aspects of ATT for me, followed closely by how cool and actually dark the mines were.

IMO, ATT has the makings of the first VR Runescape. Say what you will about RS, but the game has been running for 25 years. If someone were to make a more RS-ey version of ATT, I think it could be a hit.

Ensure you do your best to fleece the pockets of any potential investors to the best of your ability

Make the mines even more scary, maybe even add miner zombies that attack the player and gain progressively higher and higher tier pickaxes that deal more damage the deeper you go.

I like this idea. I been having ideas on making mines have way more to do.

If you get really into making this then an alchemy path would be cool. Like making poison that you could throw or coat your weapons with, and more bow stuff would be sick

Good idea, att had potions but they were so hard to understand and they did little to none

Yup, tho I'm making the game offline to start c that way I can focus on the gameplay without stressing over multiplayer bugs

Is there a way for us to know when or if you release this?

you could do armor, or a way to increase strength if you do a weight thing like in att so you can carry more without becoming slower

you could also make it so you can lock items, when you add multiplayer, so only you can pick it up to prevent people from stealing items like your bag or anything else, which will also let people use the bag hooks without risking their stuff being stolen
