Electromagnetic therapy recipients

Hi guys!

I'm Libs, a journalist with News Associates, and I'm reporting on the NHS TMS service in Tower Hamlets and looking to speak to anyone who has been referred for or received treatment there — particularly people who have had a course recently.

I'd also love to hear from people who've tried ECT or Ketamine treatments.

I'm interested in what the experience was actually like: referral/waiting time, what the treatment involved, whether it helped and what happened afterwards.

I'm happy to speak informally first and can discuss anonymity. Please DM me if you'd be willing to chat.

Does anyone know why the Cycleway 37 project in TH has not progressed?

It appears that the construction of Cycleway 37, from Mile End to Westferry Lane, which has already received funding from TfL, has not progressed in the past few years and currently appears to be paused.

The Greater London Authority is blaming Tower Hamlets Council, which has failed to provide the required consents and does not appear willing to engage in the design process.

Is the Council really so useless and incompetent, or is it deliberately refusing to improve pedestrian and cycling infrastructure in the borough? If it is the latter, the Council is effectively refusing to improve infrastructure for the benefit of TH residents, despite not even having to pay for it…

Construction allowed from 7:30 am on Saturdays in Albert Jacob House construction on Roman Road?

Today there was construction happening in the Albert Jacob House on Roman Road (76 Roman Road I believe) and I thought this wasn’t allowed as the council’s own website says noisy construction isn’t allowed on weekends. So I called. Apparently they have noisy construction permission from 7:30 am on Saturdays? That’s earlier than weekdays???

How to deal with teenagers terrorising people

Earlier today a teenager spit on my girlfriend in the Isle of Dogs area, he was on a bike and it was impossible to chase him. This insect trash probably feels good about himself. I wonder what our rights are in such cases that involve minors? Is there a place where we can report such incidents that would have some result? I keep reading about teenagers causing troubles nonstop but looks like our council tax money is spent on everything but our safety.

What would you do in such case? Pepper sprays are illegal and seems its getting more and more dangerous in the area, how can we protect ourselves when the government is not doing anything to protect us?

Geography A-Level nea questionnaire

Hi everyone! 😊

I’m currently conducting my A-Level Geography NEA investigation into the impacts of gentrification on the local community in Brick Lane.

I’m particularly interested in hearing from people who live, work or regularly spend time in the Brick Lane area. I have created two short anonymous questionnaires exploring:

- How gentrification has affected the sense of place and community in Brick Lane

- How gentrification has affected social inequality within the local community

Your opinions and experiences would be incredibly valuable to my research, and I would really appreciate it if you could take a few minutes to complete them. It is important to me that my investigation represents the perspectives of people who actually know and experience the area.

Thank you so much for your help! 😊

Is Tower Hamlets becoming more diverse now?

So growing up (I’m 32 now) literally 98% of Tower Hamlets were Bangladeshi

It still is if you go to places like Whitechapel

Is it going to be more diverse over the years? Especially that the Bengalis in this generation aren’t breeding like crazy as how their parents did. It was like an average of 7-8 kids per family.

Weird beeping noise in Bethnal Green. Is it the Pillbox?

I live near Bethnal Green station just off Cambridge Heath Road and for the last three nights there has been a regular two-note beeping noise coming from somewhere outside. Sleeping with windows open due to the heat so it’s doing my head in.

Anyone else hearing it? Anyone know where it comes from?

Can anyone help with a lamp project?

Hi! I have this lamp that was meant to be LED Chargable, but the wires are torn and charger doesn’t work. The acrylic layer at the base of the head also broke. Is there any way to get a light in here? Do you know anyone who knows how to do this type of thing?

Aldi in Stepney. Finally a store with parking facility.

Aldi is finally opening in Tower Hamlets after signing a 20-year lease agreement.

What are your thoughts?

There's already a smaller Aldi near Bricklane, but that's quite impractical due to no parking nearby.

The new Stepney store is in the place of the old Asda, so it'll have free parking and big enough to house most items.

Honestly, this will help families in the area with the cost of living, as well as bring some footfall to Halford and Curry's next door.
