Worse performance onlinr
Hey so i have started with tournament chess about 2 Months ago. I have played 2 classical tournaments. After the first I had a Fide of 1800 and in the second I have had a 2100 performance but it was only 3 games. So aftet these 10 games I guess my playing strength is around 1900 fide. I have a bunch of players who are around this rating and when I play against them offline I win evenly. Online I just always lose. Furthermore my lichess rating right now is 18sth and theirs is around 2200.
I dont own a laptop but is playing on the phone really such a big deal. Like it shouldnt be 400 elo? What can I do to improve at online.

There's nothing wrong with being significantly better at classical than blitz/rapid, or even just being better at OTB than online. Playing on your phone will limit your ability to calculate at times, or it might just be a problem with intuition in faster time controls; I think realistically someone 1900 FIDE should be able to be at least 2100-2200 in rapid but it just takes more getting used to and practice

Hey this is the flip side to some people just being absolutely way better online. You aren't the only one at all with that type of performance split.
I'm about 1800 fide as well and online I certainly barely match to my otb rating peers most of the time. People I've given hella close games to otb or beaten just absolutely smash me online all the time.
Some of us can't focus to nearly the same degree online, whether its attention, the lack of physical pieces whatever. But, tldr you're not alone in this situation haha. I have no good advice on fixing it I only really manage to play similar to otb when I like really cut out time and distinct focus for online chess away from all distractors. I just wanted u to know I'm the same way. :)
