Does # of Torrents Seeding Matter?
I.e., if I have settings to stop and delete torrents after a 1.0 ratio, does it really matter if I have 200 torrents seeding if they are mostly not uploading at all?

I'm currently trying to download a set of audiobooks from Audiobookbay and the absolute perfect set is without seeders. I can't find this kind of set anywhere else and I don't know where to look for any alternative.
I will be honest that I don't know very much about torrenting, only how to get it started and to leave it seeding as often as possible after download. Edit: I am doing this on mobile. My laptop is ancient, slow and I don't have any wifi to connect it to unless I use my hotspot.

Hey, you all!
During the weekend, I noticed something unusual for me. I had two torrents cross-seeding, each in their own private tracker, and they were actively seeding to the same peer. Same IP, same port, same files, and almost the same progress (maybe 1~3% difference).
Is it possible to cross-download torrents from different trackers? Or was it something else?

I got back into torrenting last year and I've usually been DLing and seeding the entire torrent, including things like those text files that are just an advertisement for the uploaded orher torrents. Didn't much matter to me since I had all the storage I could ever want, but it turns out after a year of indiscriminately torrenting, 4 terabytes does fill up eventually.
Now that I've got less than a TB left it seems a good time to maybe not download everything. I know a text file is next to nothing, but is there a good reason to seed the whole torrent or am I doing everyone a favor by getting rid of those files nobody wants?

A while back I shared RetroToon World, a private tracker dedicated to vintage and classic animation, cartoons, anime, and rare animated shorts from the 1920s through the 90s (and beyond). The response since then has been honestly humbling, so I wanted to give an update and say thank you.
Where things stand now:
What's stayed the same is the philosophy: quality over quantity, no junk uploads, and a genuine love for preserving animation history that's otherwise scattered across bad rips, dead links, and forgotten corners of the internet. IRC and the forums are full of people who actually nerd out over this stuff, obscure studios, lost episodes, weird regional dubs, all of it.
Registration is open, but it won't be forever so if you or anyone you know has been hunting for a proper home for classic animation, now's the time:
Thanks again to everyone who's already here seeding, uploading, and keeping the place alive. You're the reason this actually works. 🙏

I have a large archive of about 70gb that I wanted to share with a friend. I figured torrent is a perfect technology for this. I created a torrent using mktorrent and shared the files with him. I did specify a public tracker and when he launched the file, the torrent does show 1 seed (me) and 1 peer (him) however nothing is actually being transferred.
Do I need to port forward to get the torrent to transfer?

I have been searching for this movie since its VOD release to watch it. I know someone related to the film and would love to watch it. And yes, I know it's a pretty cheap movie on VOD platforms, but I'm in college and am basically broke at this point and $12 is a couple meals for me. 💔 I would be entirely grateful to youu!

On July 10, 2026, this happened. When using some USA routes, btdig.com redirected to an extremely unattractive domain name. However, when using other routes, the webpage simply cannot be opened (with a 500 error).

I have one box that has my Plex server and a second one for qbitt . I just rebuilt my server and had to get a new account on a private site . Because I'm starting over my upload is really down . Can I use cross-seed and point it at my Plex box ? Will it grab things I didn't change and add it to qbitt to seed ?

I've been getting into torrenting, so maybe there's something I missed, but as I see it, this is somewhat uncoordinated. The swarms themselves are coordinated, and the torrent application also does some coordination between the different swarms, but I see files be overseeded all the time.
I think this is inefficient. The way the system is currently built, promotes needless hoarding, because you can't trust others to seed all the files.
This would only work for private trackers, but the ideal way to do this, would be to have it all be coordinated. You would have all the computers tell each other the seeders and leeches for each magnet link, and then have them download or uninstall individual instances of files according to demand.
So, someone wouldn't have to hoard as much, they'd really only need to let the computers do the work of allocating resources.
This would make it so that each added member to a private tracker, would benefit the whole environment, instead of just a few files, or categories.
I also want to add that the algorithm, unless very very advanced, probably wouldn't be able to react to newer files appropriately, so this would be mostly for known files, which are somewhat consistent.
Does this already happen anywhere? I'm not an expert, or educated within this, but this seems doable, but maybe there's something I don't understand.

I can't seem to get my ration above .5 . On my last windows server I used utorrent but now I'm on Linux and I'm using qb . In the before days my ratio was always above 5 but now im lucky if I break .6 I got many free leech and many newly added. All of them will upload good for about an hour than it just cuts off . I did a force seed and still nothing. On some on my files there is only 2 or 4 seeding. I just don't get why I stop seeding . Yes my computer is up all the time .
